So does anyone feel like Fizz W is worth maxing first anymore?
Active damage growth per rank going from 10 to 5 really hurts the ability IMO.
I would like to play Fizz without maxing E first, but Fizz Q and W both have underpar skill rank growth.

nah max E lower CD allows you to make crazy plays
Only if you can hit people with it. If you are playing vs ranged like Ahri, you will eat too much poke when you try to manfight her with W.
I know this problem. I used to play full ap fizz jungle and i maxed w first (better clearspeed, duelling potential and less mana hungry), but after these nerfs i almost stopped playing jungle fizz, because his w lost so much early damage (w + 20% base ad because you are attacking your opponent) and his e has too high manacosts to provide a good campclear. I completely stomped ganking lanes before i finished my runeglaive + nlr, simply because i have not enough damage. I wish they would increase his dot base damage by 50 (0.8 (fizz base as at lvl 9) * 3 secounds (dot length) * 20 (lost w damage)) at rank 5. It wouldnt scale with attack speed or help e max fizz, but it would be a nice buff to w max fizz
