Can Shyvana have the ability to E beneath herself in Dragon Form or have a minimum range indicator?

It's very annoying to not have a minimum range indicator and discover i can't use E under myself.

YOU'RE TAKING THE DESCRIPTION TOO LITERALLY. THAT'S NOT HOW IT REALLY WORKS AS IT EXPLODES ONCE IT REACHES THE DESTINATION YOU TARGETED. IT DOESN'T COLLIDE WITH ANYTHING ON IT'S WAY!

I feel as a Shyvanna/Soraka main that this is unnecessary. Why shoot a fireball at your feet when you can gobble them up? Or hit them in the face and apply it under them instead of you? Plus you already have a friggin' ring of fire flowing around you, and yet you want your Morgana circle to be under your toes...?!

I feel sorry for Riot and the community they have to deal with...

Are you serious? Shyvana is huge in dragon form. You say you main her but you don't know what her E in Dragon Form does? The fuck is your logic? It does heavy burst damage if you hit it and it applies a mark that allows your basic attacks to do massive amounts of damage during the duration of it.

I feel sorry for myself for having to deal with people like you.

I know exactly what her E does, I'm just saying that complaining about something with no real reason to is stupid. Hit them in the face and you get a more relevant AOE placement, you get your burst damage and there is literally no reason to make her any stronger at close range like that. And the mark doesn't increase your damage, but rather your % max health damage, so potentially very small amounts of damage to squishies compared to tanks. It's not a given that it is necessary for a kill.

Burnout is sufficient for close range damage even if you miss the fireball, seeing as how any decent Shyvana can get a full 4 autos out in the time it takes other's to hit 2, and that plus burnout is an added 100% of attack damage in addition to the magic damage applied by burnout itself. The +10% max health damage that would be applied in that case is nice, sure, but only really relevant to tanks at that point, and if you're missing tanks with a fireball of that size, the indicator is hardly your biggest problem.

Did you miss Shyvana's E reworK? You can't just spray it in their faces anymore. It's a skillshot now that you can't put under yourself / very close to yourself such as enemy basic attack range if they're small enough which most champions are.

And i'm assuming you never hit your E first before attacking to say that that mark does no damage. It literally shreds everyone that fights you for longer than 3 seconds.

"Shyvana unleashes a fireball forward in a line that will mark all enemies it hits, dealing 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+30% of ability power) (+ 0.3 per total attack damage) magic damage to them. The fireball stops upon colliding with an enemy champion. Shyvana's basic attacks against marked enemies deal bonus magic damage equal to 2.5% of their maximum health.

Dragon Form: Flame breath explodes when it hits an enemy champion or reaches its destination, dealing 100-160 (at levels 1-18) (+30% of ability power) bonus magic damage and leaving behind a flame zone. The zone is 220 / 240 / 260 units wide (at ranks 1 / 2 / 3 of Dragon's Descent) and deals 60-120 (at levels 1-18) (+20% of ability power) (+ 0.1 per total attack damage) magic damage per second. Enemies that remain in the flame zone are persistently marked for Flame Breath's bonus on-hit damage."

I've italicized and bolded the relevant parts for you, in case they weren't obvious...

?? Do you even understand what i'm talking about? Or do you think the Dragon form E stops on the first enemy champion it hits in mid air? It doesn't. It's a skillshot that can be hit across champions, behind them. You haven't played Shyvana in almost a year it seems.

Except that it only worked that way thanks to the high-ground distorting the fact that it's still minimum range. If you did it on flat ground, it would go farther and i've fired across champions, seemingly "through" them without it colliding.

I'd use a gif or something to show but you're not really worth that much effort to me.

Glasletter2 votes

I'm sure if you pause and frame-by-frame examine it closely, you'll see he's in the river. Regardless, the fireball exploded on the champion regardless of what you said, although I guess that could technically be called the "minimum range". Firing it from river into mid or another "slope" never causes an early detonation and never reduces it's range.

There is a simple explanation for a fireball "going through" your enemies: you missed.

That or the game lagged, seeing as how the quoted description of the ability is from Riot directly.

If you so desire I can make another video for you on "flat ground" to further prove my point.

rtbf2256182411 votes

No i already checked. It does collide when you hit directly in the center. The reason i can fire "through" them is because the hitbox is incredibly small so if you're not lined up it won't work and will go across them as i've done countless times.

Still, my original argument stands. It's much harder to hit at close range due to when you miss, it does have a minimum range that can land behind an enemy and not on top of them.

It's comparable to a Xerath trying to hit his abilities at melee range while the opponent rotates around him.

Glasletter2 votes

Sooooo your issue is that skillshots.... can miss....?

One of the easiest way to dodge skillshots is to get close and circle, that's a given(ex. Warwick uses his held Q to travel through an opponent and dodge abilities). Or is your issue that missed skillshots still travel the full length of the original skillshot? That the on-hit explosion triggers at max distance, not randomly halfway through the skillshot distance?

It sounds like you don't have an issue with Shyvana herself, but rather skillshots in general, regardless of the champion. In that case I recommend finding a different game.

rtbf2256182411 votes

No, my issue is that it's narrow as fuck hitbox does not match the visuals enough to justify the "collision mechanic" when it's that bad. It shouldn't have a minimum range where to land, which is usually behind the enemy.

Considering i have to explain my point like 5 times before you get to it, you should find a different Forum if you're that shortsighted.

Glasletter2 votes

So your issue is the hitbox for said ability? In that case I'd recommend changing the title of your post to "Shyvana's E has too small of a hitbox" or "looks too big", which ironically has nothing to do with the actual current title.

Also, I still don't get what you mean by "minimum range", as her fireball can explode the second it comes out of her mouth. That's pretty minimum.

rtbf2256182411 votes

First of all, that's not irony.

Secondly, it's hitbox is fine by me but it makes having a minimum range for close range a disadvantage if your reasoning is "Just hit them in the face." like it's that easy. It also has a cast time.

By minimum range i mean that it travels a short distane before it explodes, no matter how close you put it. For example, having a Jax hit you at his basic attack range will cause your fireball to land the distance behind him, where the hitbox of the field the E leaves behind won't affect him.

In other words, it has a minimum range it can't be casted closer to Shyvana from.

Glasletter2 votes

As I explained, the only reason you won't hit Jax with a fireball is because you missed. The cast time is irrelevant. The same is true of any skill shot, and you could chalk that up to one of Jax's advantages. He's a mobile champion with a decently small hitbox.

Are you saying Shyv has the same issue as Cho'gath? Or any size-increased champion that has a ranged attack?

rtbf2256182411 votes

Facepalm* It seems you don't understand what i meant when i said the minimum range makes it infuriatingly, hard as hell to hit.

You see, if i aimed next to said Jax, the E would explode and still damage him, applying the mark on top of it. But i can't fire next to him because it'll push the E further into the MINIMUM RANGE it HAS TO TRAVEL.

You see now? Cho'Gath is completely unrelated so no idea what you meant by that.

Glasletter2 votes

The only thing that would have made sense is if you were saying that the champions were closer to the champion than her mouth, so the fireball started farther than the end of the hitbox of the other champion. In that case the only issue you would have would be an understanding of unit collision. That was my reasoning for bringing up Cho'Gath, as he has various issues regarding his size, like being hit by towers from the jungle and such.

The fireball has no minimum travel range. If you'd like to add me in game we can open a 1v1 and test it. I really don't mind spending time doing so.

rtbf2256182411 votes

So now you don't believe it has a minimum range? What the fuck this thread is filled with me trying to direct you to just this?

If it didn't have a minimum range you'd be able to fire your E beneath yourself, in front of yourself, close enough where enemies usually basic attack you but you can't. The fireball will be pushed further to it's minimum range it has to travel.

I'm done. This is getting just disgusting.

PS:I'm on EUW, but you i don't assume you can read that little part when it takes an entire comments section to explain a simple truth to you.

Glasletter2 votes

Wherever the fireball hits the AOE is placed. That's what the skill description as set by Riot is. "The fireball stops upon colliding with an enemy champion." I'm tired of this as well. I know the champion and I know what she does. The issues you bring up, even if they were as you describe them, are miniscule and not worthy of Riot's attention. If you can't play it then that's on you, not Riot. I can play it fine.

Maybe the real problem is just that you don't have the skills necessary. Feels bad, man.

It's not that you're insisting on your side of the shitty "Well git gud" argument it's that you can't even understand my side of it despite me simplifying it about 5 times and don't understand what a QoL change is. It would be a minor buff at best.
