Solo players actually terrify Riot. Their mechanical outplays are too strong http://imgur.com/yzygHs4
upvote for SAO
Terrible anime.
Depends on a person view. For me it is quite good.
It has it's ups and downs, the first season for me (SAO + ALO) was too fast paced, 1 episode you're 1st floor 2nd episode already on like 14th floor and it just keeps going like that, for ALO I guess it wasn't that bad it's been awhile so I don't remember much
The second season did good GGO went at a good pace, I guess because there was less characters to keep track of, the sword arc was terribly placed and was too fast/short, and the mother rosario arc was...... TTTTTTT__________TTTTTT
That moment when a DQ is so bad, that people find discussing an anime more appealing than discussing the game itself
What is there to discuss about DQ? It sucks, discussion over... It has no redeeming qualities.
It allows people to actually queue for the role they prefer to play, it allows people to play with more of their friends, it encourages team play over solo pub fests, and overall increases the skill of players outside of competitive play as a result.
I dunno, cant seem to really find a negative.

You aren't very bright. They aren't talking about the champion select, they are talking about allowing 4 morons to queue together, ruin the game for the 5th person and boost someone in their group beyond their ability.
Ranked should be one person.
Which is part of the champion select and core to dynamic queue.
And i mentioned that "it allows people to play with more of their friends, it encourages team play over solo pub fests, and overall increases the skill of players outside of competitive play as a result."
The focus on teamplay in ranked is probably better for the overall ranked community and we will likely see the playerbase get better skill-wise as a result.
Yes, but this is why we had 5v5s or 3v3s before. Now though, you cannot be in a game without doing this, so some people have the advantage of being able to communicate better with their friends while people like me, who have no friends that play league, cannot do that and are already put at a disadvantage. Also, there is the common point that people can now just be easily carried to a rank that they do not deserve by their friends who are better than them. Team play is also only one skill and putting more emphasis on it makes other skills (such as mechanics) improve less, so that the net gain of skill will probably stay about even.
And I like the new champ select, but it is not actually a part of Dynamic queue and I would be happy if they kept it.
If ranked is going to be "one person" then lp gain and loss should reflect individual performance rather than the collaborative efforts of 5 people winning a match together.
Thats nearly impossible for a game that is a team game. Your rank will never truly represent "your" rank.
I agree with you whole heartedly sir. That is kinda my point. Solo Q was never truly a measure of your individual skill it was a measure of your skill and your teamwork and RNG...Some people have really good RNG, lets be honest. Dynamic Q, while i still think is shit if you dont have people to play with or prefer to go it alone, but it at least makes sense in a team game.
But IF you were to have a "solo Q" then your climb should be a direct result of your individual performance, including kda, damage dealt, kill participatin, wards placed/destroyed , towers destroyed/damage, objectives secured, etc. Otherwise there is too much RNG to mean anything.
my opinion, take it or leave it.
Theres no real formula to track that though. Having a good KDA doesnt really matter in league, for example. You can easily win a game having 0 kills so long as you are dominating CS and objectives. Ive gone 1/4 top lane and i was severely winning the lane off of just CS alone. 130+ CS to 50, my 4 deaths didnt matter. The next fight Garen just melted since he didnt believe me when i said i was winning the lane.
i understand kda and winning are different thats why i made a nice long "starter" list that includes things like objectives and tower damage, i forgot cs but i fugured you guys would get the idea. Still win/loss is a horrible metric for individual performance.

It could be, expect that Riot has no way to quantify the value of each players performance. KDA is a shitty indicator and reflect people's contribution.
I dont know man...they rank you after every match, it seems to me like they have some sort of system in place already to do this and KDA isnt the only thing involved. if it were, id have gotten two S grades back to back with two perfect games gifted to me by plebs last night.
This is an outlier. Sorry, dude. You are saying this is a regular occurrence.
What was to stop duos from ruining your game?
What's to stop one solo person from ruining your game? LOL
Jesus. YOU aren't very bright.

Horseshit it happens all the time. Sorry if you are too stupid to see it.
First of all it's the new Champion select, not the Dynamic QUEUE.
Secondly, it's two roles and there is exactly 0 difference between primary and secondary role. For example over the last ~30 or so games, I got my primary about 5 times.
Thirdly, in the old system I could at least bargain with people for the role I ACTUALLY wanted. Now in 95% of cases I can't even do that.
Long story short, even the new CHAMPION SELECT isn't all that much better than the new one and it isn't even the thing complained about here.
Theres never been a weighted difference between them... the point is that youre queuing for one of two roles. Pick two youre able to play. It wouldnt work all that well if it took your primary primarily, since games need other roles as well.
In the other system, whoever was last pick was support. While im a support main (or at least was), thats not an issue. However, for most people, thats an issue.
Now you can actually get roles you can play 100% of the time, meaning you should never be at a disadvantage based on role assignment alone.
We are speaking about getting one role in less than 20% of games, despite setting it as "primary".
It's like people who were picking whatever/support. They don't do that anymore. If you want to play only one role, like support, then it's fine, but otherwise, it can get a bit annoying to get the same and less prefered role 15 times in a row.
Not all roles are played equally by players. Thats not an issue with dynamic queue, thats an issue with the playerbase or the less played roles not being as "fun" to the majority of players.
You are not wrong about the playerbase preferences, but are wrong about DQ involvement.
One simple logic check added to the DQ system, ensures a player won't have to play the same role multiple times in a row.
[{quoted}](name=Pika Fox,realm=NA,application-id=Ir7ZrJjF,discussion-id=9aUFTlz3,comment-id=00000000000000000000000000000000000100000001000000000000,timestamp=2016-05-18T21:07:21.981+0000)
And then youd have much longer queue times because it puts you in less played roles generally due to the nature of it.
I'd happily wait some, instead of getting sub-1 second long queue times, only to be placed in my secondary role for the 10th time in a row.
I'm sure, there is quite a lot of people like that.
I agree with this, I'd rather wait even up to an extra 5minutes than to play the same secondary role I played in my past 10games for another 40minutes.

Main mid detected.
I'm a main solo top and I get top 90% off the time. And those god awful long queues I sometimes get at diamond 4 I still get my main role. Sometimes in 10 seconds I get an instant queue and I get mid (my secondary).
This system is better though because now you have only 2 roles to fill and buy champions for on a new account instead of all 5. On the other hand newer players should try each role, because you will lack severe knowledge if you never do a certain role about the role.
I do not understand how so many people can be this damn stupid. NO ONE is talking about the champ select system we are talking about allowing groups of 3 or 4, that makes playing as a solo player unenjoyable.

It allows people to actually queue for the role they prefer to play
It also allow low elo players have the opportunities to experience challenger queue time yay!
Ive yet to have had a queue time over 2 minutes. This is as top/jungle role selection, not support, which is still technically my main.
While theres an issue supposedly at higher ELOs, there isnt one at low-mid ELO.
You are crazy, I am Silver I on this account and I've had queue times well over 10 minutes (the highest being around 14 - 15 minutes). I would say my average queue time on this account is about 3 - 5 minutes every game. Since the release of Dynamic queue rarely have I seen the instant queues that I used to get consistently in the older system.
Try Fill or Support.
You'll get a match pop-up, before you'll be able to release your mouse button after clicking the queue start one.
If you were to reintroduce solo queue, I could guarantee you that dynamic queue would die out because it is not a true representative of your actual skill. Its a mixture of solo queue and ranked 5mans that is forced upon every player wishing to ranked, which is dumb as hell
Solo Queue wasnt any better at showing you a "true representation of your actual skill". This is a team game, and you are only 20% of the input on your team, and 10% of the input in the game. Your ELO will never truly be about you and how well you do, its always about your contribution to the team.
I think if they made SAO a full anime (something on par with One peice, Bleach, etc) where they did like 2-3 episodes going through each floor or so, even skipping a few here and there, where they actually did the full thing, and they didnt find out (SPOILERS) forgot his name, was the actual game creator, and should of been the final boss like planned, would of been awesome.
Mix some Lost Horizon in there for drama and politics and some Terra Formers with some gore and anyone can die factor, would of made it 100x better in my book.
please no. some of us don't want to watch 500 episodes of an anime
Why?
I've met people that won't watch anime bigger than 24 episodes which confuses me.
If you love something why would you want it to end?
Just curious.
Because 90% of those shows just pad on more and more things. I appreciate a well told story a lot more than wanting to see my favorite characters just continue to progress forever, especially because it greatly minimizes any of the character's gained abilities. I'm not opposed to longer shows (I loved Slayers, for example, and it's just as bad an example of this in some ways but clocks in at a lot less episodes), I just hate that people can look at something like One Piece and imply that it's more "full" than a shorter anime just because it's longer. A lot of times half the episodes are filler anyway, and I get pretty bored watching episode after episode of formulaic monster of the week bs, especially after 100s of episodes.
You keep bringing up one peice but the objections you bring up seem like you haven't watched more than... well any episodes.
The fact of the matter is you only have 22 minutes a episode and there's only so much you can fit in 22 minutes which leaves precious little for personality and world building around individual characters.
One peices crew has each had more than 10 episodes a peice doing nothing but building on every aspect of them.
You couldn't do that in a short anime.
One peice also doesn't follow the "monster of the week" formula.
One peice also has very little filler episodes especially when you Consider it's like 600 episodes long I'd say less than 40 are filler. And this is from someone's who's watched one peice 3 times from start to finish.
So yea considering the main character by himself has had more character building episodes that the entire length of some anime it's easily "fuller" than shorter animes.
On a note about the 22 minutes deal.
I think The Walking Dead has more actual show time, than One Piece does.
After 24 episodes the show does not seem as fresh, and gets somewhat boring.
Strange. I for one hope one peice goes for another 1000 episodes.
What I think is boring is the hundreds of school animes where the main character that just joined the school is the most broken overpowered guy ever.
He forgot? Not sure about the manga(if any), but the guy states at the end of the anime, that he was acting all along.
Plus, Fairy Tail long(175 episodes of the first "season") would be more than enough.
THIS. This is actually what I expected from the show. I thought it would have arcs at times of different floors/bosses but it ended so quickly and ran out of interesting material. Like, I would have enjoyed watching them kill bosses, build relations and collect gear
Exactly.
First arc should of ended on like (i forgot how many floors theres suppose to be, 100?) - like 8? Where their noob and starting out and Kirito is massivly overleveled (everyone is like 15 and hes 35), then some filler arc where he is grinding to collect gear, like how he did with the ice dragon, but stretch it over 3-5 episodes with several issues with red players, losing his way, etc. Then even more so, contiune the story, a few people die, he saves the remaining people in a boss fight, joins a guild, filler arc where he is earning his rank in the guild, continues the story leading the front lines, meet his girl, filler arc is where their fishing in their little love cabin, and so forth.
Maybe for you, but I'd recommend giving the Abridged version a try. Their writing and character development is IMO far superior to the original anime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6kJKxvbgZ0&list=PLuAOJfsMefuej06Q3n4QrSSC7qYjQ-FlU
