How can I prevent accidentally hitting minions in a teamfight?

This is a long-overdue question for me as I've been playing this game for almost three years now, but I was never able to find a way to NOT accidentally hit minions in a team fight. I've tried toggling 'target champions only' while using attack move click but I end up still hitting minions, especially when I'm playing ADC. Is anyone willing to offer their in-game settings to me? Thanks

Just practice and aim your attack move as close to the intended target as possible.

Attack move isn't there so that you don't need to aim the right click anymore. It's there so that your don't have to have laser accuracy with your right click especially in busy fights. You still have to do the aiming to the best of your ability yourself.

Hold This button and then click - ( ~ ) it's the button directly to the left of the number one on the top of the keyboard.
