Tiamat active + Infinity Edge passive

When you auto attack someone and immediately use the item 3077 active, it is as if you are landing a critical strike on the target. So why does the active not deal 50% bonus damage when you have item 3031? Can we change it to this?

If you do get both these items, then the tiamat active should be treated as a critical strike and thus item 3143 should reduce its damage by 10%.

Why should Tiamat be treated as a critical strike? This makes no sense to me...

That's like saying why does the magic damage on shiv work with critical strike chance/damage. It makes more sense for the damage increase to be on tiamat then on shiv, but yet shiv has it.

Because it's not a crit, it's activating an item.

The only reason you'd want I Edge to buff it with its crit amp would be if you wanted to buff melee AD carry champs.

Hardly any melee AD carry champs currently buy both items. However, with the change, it allows another option that does not feel like a much weaker item than say item 3072 item 3153 item 3139 or item 3812

They have plenty of options and are plenty strong. Like I said, it'd only be if they wanted to buff melee carries or that combo in particular which I can see no reason to (especially since it's not a crit it's an item activation so it doesn't make sense why the crit boosting item would effect the activation)

But it's not a critical strike . . ..

If you auto attack and immediately use the active, you deal 200% AD in less than 0.1 seconds. That is pretty much as if you landed a crit on your auto attack.

Yeah but it's not a critical strike . . ..

IE does bonus crit damage. Not bonus bonus damage. Bonus crit damage. The sheen items double your base AD, but they are not crits.
