Why is Darius so hard?

Am I the only one who finds Darius to be unbelievably hard to play?

His laning is very straightforward and I come out ahead more often than not... but once he goes out of laning phase I CAN'T DO ANYTHING. (it doesn't matter how many kills I got in the lane)

"Build the stacks in the teamfights on whatever you can hit closest to you... then when you get Noxian Might... kill everyone one by one."

I have never been able to pull this off at all. Maybe once in ten teamfights.

Fights happen super fast (people die left and right). Even when I do get stacks half the time its useless because I can't really get on anyone that matters (almost all popular carries these days have blinks, dashes, or some kind of mobility).

Any advice on how to actually play him and have impact?

Note: I find Renekton super easy to utilise by comparison in both lane and teamfights. But Darius... I can't make him work in teamfights; he is supposed to be... "easy"????

Not that I main Darius or anything, but I find that when the laning phase ends you end up more as an off tank to pull people out of position and then keep them close while your team does the rest of the work.

He's a lane bully, but the most important thing to note that, if you're behind as a Darius, you're useless for almost the entire game. The only thing he can provide in a teamfight is one pull, and you better hope that you can outdamage the other duelist & carries in the enemy team.

Everyone has their personal kryptonites, it's not as all-encompassing as easy champions and hard champions.

If you're not in a proper formation when you're engaging a teamfight then its gonna be rough since you'll either get kited or turned on/picked off. The best thing you can do is pull in as much of them as you can so your team can gain access to their backline, or just find a pick on someone overextending before a fight & turn it into a 4v5.. If y'all die before then than you're not engaging in a way that favors your comp.

If you're behind after laning phase, just split-push like crazy tbh. Darius offers nothing to teamfights when he's behind except for his pull.
