Can we talk about the definition of fun?

From what happens to me often, and I'm sure it happens to others, I gather that there are three kinds of people.

1. "I play to win" this person is very competitive, and wants to win and do their best at all times.
2. "I play to have fun" this person is just looking for a good time.
3. "Eh. I stopped caring" ... you know this person... (This is just these people's average games that they play, rarely will you find 1 person who encompasses all 3 equally.) Now, of course, someone who is a 1 will occasionally become a 2, but never a 3. Their personality prohibits them from doing so. A 2 can be a 1 or 3 occasionally. A 3 is never a 1, but can be a 2. Simply because of their nature.

(Slight side note incoming) A person who is a 1, does not get a long with a 3, but does get a long with a 2, if the 2 cares about trying to win. A person who is a 2, probably does not like a 3, but would prefer to have a 1 so they can have more fun, or 2 for the same reason. A person who is a 3, probably does not care.

These people's personalities will often be conflicted with each other, and start arguing. I've noticed teams that have three 1s, and two 3s, the team doesn't work. If the team is all 1s, it can become a high stress environment. The best mix of players to have on a team in solo queue is maybe two hard working 2s, and three 1s. (Sight note over)

These 3 kinds of people have a complete definition of fun. A 1 wants to win, and has fun doing so. A 2s definition is varied on the person. And a 3 can just be whatever, from trolling to doing severe out of meta things.

If a player is upset with another player (not flaming, just upset-a slight tilt) for not playing to win the game, and the other player states "Just have fun man, it's just a game!", then that is not a valid response. A 2 and 3 will say "Games are for fun" A 1 will say "Games are meant to be won"

I am a 1. I play to win, I play to be the best in every match, and I get this response "Just play to have fun man" so much. My having fun is winning, and enjoying my way of winning. I don't play FoTM champs, but I work hard at the champs I want to learn, and become decent with them. THAT is the fun I have, and the fun other 1s have. You saying "just have fun" is what I'm trying to do. On the flip side, a 2 having fun can also equate to attempting a victory. If you do play to have fun, at least try to win, otherwise you become a 3 in the eyes of a 1 and other 2s.

It's very hard to figure out who is actually ruining the fun of the other players if they aren't a 3. A 1 will say "You aren't trying to win, therefore you're ruining my fun" A 2 will say, "You are being a tryhard, therefore you're ruining my fun"

These two people are in exact opposition to each other, unless they both play to win.

So please. Play to win, and report the 3s out there.
