@Support mains

This will sound silly, but we kinda have the power to fix the autofill system.

Take a non-support role in your role selection, and swap with someone who got autofilled support. They will get their primary role next game (and hopefully this game) and everyone can be happy (sort of...?)

Can it work?

all that will do is increase the amount of people that get autofilled to begin with, resulting in the same net result. Except it is actually worse since you might not even have picked the role the person who got autofilled wanted.

So this actually would make it worse.

But for every time someone takes autofill they are protected for two games, aren't they?

Also, what about supports that do this and end up in games with people that actually didn't get autofilled into support? then they'd be stuck playing a role they didnt want.

What they do is they put 2 support mains on the same team, and the other team have no one that wants to support.

Spoiler alert, the second team wins.

it wont work, I usually go mid/jungle and offer my jungle role to the support if I get it. but the support usually wants to support from what I've seen. luckily I can jungle, but what if your a support that cant and now your in trouble.

I could probably go Mid/bot and swap. If I get my role and people ask for mid, I'll usually swap with them. I've had enough Ahri games, does not bother me one slight bit especially in a Syndra/LB lane.

Or you could just queue up as support, get more people queueing up as support, and balance the role selection out a little bit better so that Riot can remove the system without having too many people complaining about long queue times.

Honestly, the system would work far better if more people were willing to take support as their secondary. While it was rather spotty when they introduced the system, many of the kinks (i.e. always getting support) seem to have been worked out.

I have been enjoying the results of doing so significantly:

  • If I haven't been given support, it is probably filled by a support main
  • I've been getting my primary role rather often (about the same as queuing Jungle/Mid or Jungle/Top)
  • I don't have to worry about bottom lane snowballing against our team since the support actually knows the role

Bonus: The system has stopped autofilling me into ADC.
