Why am I losing 23 points and winning 16 points?

I just played a game and lost 23 points. Then, I played a game and won 16 points. Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks.

Assuming you are not duoing, your mmr is probably below the average for ur rank.

Low MMR

EDIT: The game sees that you're in a matchup that you are higher elo than, which means in normal circumstances, you should win.

So when you win aganist people you're expected to win again, the reward is lesser

When you lose against people you're expected to win against, you lose more

Because, even with a 55% winrate, this system would still allow you to move up the ladder. If your consistent at winning or atleast above 55%) you wont complain about this

I believe the number of points you win or lose depends on how well you did in the game. I.E. If you were carried to victory (Going 0-5-8 on the winning team) you will get less than 20 points. However if you carried the winning team (like 10-5-0) then you'd get more than 20 points. The opposite system naturally applies to losing.
