I googled it and tryndamere always comes up on counter lists for urgot I've been playing a lot of tryndamere and to be honest he doesn't seem to counter urgot atleast not hard anyway so what are some really hard counters for urgot? even the top lane bullies like pantheon and jayce don't seem to do the trick

Tyndamere is not a tank, so the max hp damage doesn't feel nearly as bad, and his ult is a hard counter to Urgot's ult. Tryndamere also does more damage in a drawn out 1v1 duel as Urgot his reliant on his SHOTGUN KNEES.
I'd also image that other mobile fights that can position themselves would also be able to stay around spots where Urgot's knees have already been fired. And while Urgot is ranged, he his short ranged, so against other ranged top laners like Gnar or Quinn, it becomes more of a skill battle.
And your spin can help you either chase him down or reposition to avoid 1 of his shotgun knees.

Tryndamere doesn't actually beat Urgot. He just beats Urgot's ult.
I've found success with Shen and Sion. Your biggest thing is being able to avoid his dash and/or Q. Either of those will neutralize his W's damage potential.
