This game is full of nonsense

I've just seen that popular post by an Archivist talking about how players want new playstyles but the moment they come, they instantly ask for nerfs for said playstyle. He pointed out Viktor's current state, which is terrible to be honest.

Riot always seems to focus a lot on the identity of a champion, specially when they do reworks, they claim that a champion has certain abilities because those fit their identity. Viktor has always been a traditional mage, he is meant to be weak early but have the ability to defend himself by easily clearing waves with his E and then being a monster in teamfights in the late game. That has ALWAYS been Viktor's identity as a champion.

What is Viktor now though? He is ''pseudoJayce'', just another ranged top laner that abuses poke, doesnt lose almost any matchup and on top of that, he builds ICEBORNE GAUNTLET and it WORKS. I might be crazy but when I see a mage, I expect that mage to deal dmg and be squishy, or if said mage builds armor and mana, I expect it to deal absolutely no damage. That doesnt happen to Viktor, he can freely build Iceborne Gauntlet and still not fall considerably behind in damage. THAT IS NOT INNOVATIVE GAMEPLAY, thats just very poor design.

I dont have a problem with champions like Viktor finding diferent builds or playstyles to make them fit into the meta, but when you take a champion that is weak early and you find a build that nullifies its weaknesses while not drawing much from its strengths, you get unbalance.

Let's take Ezreal as an example, he builds Gauntlet, which is not an item for adcs, but that doesnt make him absurdly strong, it doesnt turn him into a powerhouse, in fact, its just a more defensive version for the trinty build that really affects his damage. But even with Gauntlet purchase, Ezreal is still the same champion, weak early, nice windup into stacked muramana and a very strong mid game. It doesnt happen the same to Viktor.
