Why can Orianna do everything?
I feel like this champion has no drawbacks at all compared to every other mage in the game, her Q has way too low cooldown, if she puts the ball on your caster minions youre zoned for good, there is no place you can move that will save you from getting poked, she is way too safe, her wave clear is pretty decent, I think we can agree that she is kind of a lane bully, she wins most trades lvl 1, lvl 3 she has the upper hand again thanks to shields and instant QW nuke. Pretty annoying to deal with her in lane unless you heavily outrange her which is not something that common for most mages since yeah, her Q usage range is relatively low but the distance the ball can stay away from her is pretty bag and that in itself is a massive zoning tool.
Melee assassins even have a harder time against her, if they try to farm with autos they have to get ready for fast food restaurant Orianna Poke Delivery, making them have to focus their abilities on the farm to not get shoved completely, but then again, focusing poke on Orianna is pretty pointless since she has a shield that also gives her resistances which is very noticeable in lane.
All that said, a champion with all these assets is normally expected to have a poor late game, well not the case with Orianna, her mid game is decent but once she hits her good AP spot she is also probably the best teamfighting mage in the game, she has one of the best ults out there that not only knocks up in area, it also deals a big chunk of damage and brings enemies in for more possible aoe CCs coming from the team. Just her ball standing in the middle of the battlefield already acts as an Anivia ult since no carry would like to get close to that and die.
The only weaknesses Orianna has is those of a typical mage, lack of mobility and in her case a bit lower range than other mages in the roster. Still when you compare this to everything she does, she makes up for a very obnoxious champion to deal with in lane and a very obnoxious champion to deal with in teamfights.
The closest example to Orianna we have is Azir, but there is a huge difference since Azir has a much longer cooldown on his Q and once he sends his soldiers forward he remains defenseless, Orianna can simply call back her ball for shield, extra defenses and a point blank ult to the face.
And please, dont even start with the ''ban Orianna if you cant play against her'', I need more than 1 available ban to get rid of overpowered champions, that said I always ban Zoe which I guess needs no explanation.
And yes, I'm aware jungle pressure can really put Orianna behind, but a champion's weakness shouldnt be jungle pressure solely.
