Half of the worst win rate champions in the game are mages

Newsflash riot, nerfing the MR on Maw of Malmortius by 10 isn't going to do shit. But, then again, we all must bow before our AD overlords right?

I suppose it's a good thing that the mage-update is the next one coming then, isn't it?

This. I swear people are complaining about mages so when the clearly acknowledged change comes they can say "Riot followed my advice."

Don't play the 6 mages they're changing until August.

Don't play any mage until the update.

Well, to each their own. I really enjoy Brand in the mid-lane. And if I'm playing against an assassin, I go Galio. Lux is really strong IMO, and if I'm feeling like some extra juice is needed with friends, I take Karthus.

None of the mages they're working on are really struggilng that much though. The big 7 are: Annie Brand Cassiopeia Malzahar Velkoz Vladimir Zyra

Most of those champions aren't doing very badly statistically, only Vlad and Cass are struggling hugely. It's other mages that are doing the worst.

The worst performing mages in overall win rate are (in order - this will include some you're free to define as assassins): Kassadin Ryze Veigar Leblanc Cassiopeia Syndra Viktor Orianna Vladimir

If you go to champion.gg (Plat+), the worst win rate mages are (in order and again with the "maybe some debatable assassins" disclaimer): Veigar Kassadin Vladimir Cassiopeia Leblanc Orianna Lulu Syndra Viktor

As you can see, the majority of the champions receiving major updates in the MYMU are not major balance outliers (everyone bar Cass/Vlad is at least decent in a role or two) and are pretty viable champions. The MYMU is not at all motivated by making weak mages strong (if you paid any attention go the directional threads you'd know that) and if you had to give someone a list of six mages not to play until June, it probably shouldn't include most of the update candidates. Really it should just be the "I won't do well for you until you play 100+ games on me" mechanical champs like Ryze Leblanc Orianna Syndra Azir.

You also need to stop assuming that the changes in the PBE are guaranteed to be the changes that make it to the live client. A lot of those values shift or testing progresses, and it's likely that you'll see a larger nerf (or no nerf at all) in the patch notes. Riot doesn't display all of their final changes or testing results to the general player base for good reason, and they're the only ones that know what additional changes are also being considered/tested. Wait until patch notes to judge their balancing.

I don't think mages are a real issue. Not as strong as they were but still completely playable, and winnable with.

I feel like this mage talk started with some valid points and just spiraled down into circlejerk bandwagon qq
