A Solution...

Balancing for regular players and the pro's does not work well due to skill/coordination differences. You have cases where the lowest win rate and low play rate champions get nerfed just to balance for the pro's.

What if pro's received variable # of bans? If the goal is to add diversity to the pro champion picks then force in on them. For example in a best of 7 series 1st game 10 bans 2nd game 10 more bans (plus original 10) for 20 total bans 3rd game 10 more bans (plus original 20) for 30 total bans 4th game 10 more bans (plus original 30) for 40 total bans 5th game 10 more bans (plus original 40) for 50 total bans 6th game 10 more bans (plus original 50) for 60 total bans 7th game 10 more bans (plus original 60) for 70 total bans

You'd get to see a lot champion diversity at the pro level. Maybe by the 7th game Teemo gets picked?! Maybe all ADC's get banned and a double melee bot lane is picked. I personally think this would be more interesting, but it's a matter of taste.

But most importantly the balance team could focus on regular players.

the game wouldn't be balanced then.

Yeah if some champions are just busted in pro play when balanced for normal play... Why not just ban them? Like OP Pokemon/MTG cards that aren't allowed in tournaments.

50 bans in 5 games?!?

Sorry but what? This is not a solution in the slightest. Not all matches are "best of X" series so this does absolutely nothing for those games. Then you are asking for pros to learn what? About 15+ champions each? And to be able to use them in compositions that make some semblance of sense? On top of having to prepare for whoever their opponents might be? If your goal is to completely destroy pro play then sure go ahead and do this.

A better solution is Riot should basically throw up a set of 50-75 champions each week and those are the champs that the pros can play this week, period, no discussion. Then pick/ban proceeds as normal. This would force diversity in picks because each week the options are different. And all the pros should be able to do this because they're supposedly the best at this game and are literally PAID to play it. And if you can't get "balanced" matches out of rotating limited champ pools that Riot selects, then the game is busted all to hell. If you want to make it really sassy, say the pool is always 75 champs and 5-10 of those champs are selected by the actual teams playing (each player can choose 1 champ they want in the pool, which would be +5 if complete overlap to +10 if all different). If players hold some really sneaky pocket picks, they can have those in play all the time and then bust it out when they really need it if it's not banned.
