Hey, when i got around level 20, i decided to main sup. I eventually stopped cuz my friends told me to. Now, i realized that i am so good at peeling and protecting my team. Ive mainly been playing tahm kench but i cant seem to do well with him in the support role. Top is different... in bot lane, i always get kited and im always unsure of what im supposed to do. Peel or zone enemy? When playing any peel champs, i have trouble in winning games. Idk why :/. Can someone help me learn support? And can u climb as fast by playing peel champs like shen and tahm? Or is it a waste of time?

Support is being that puzzle piece your team needs to make a decent composition. If you're a tank, you're mostly there to peel. If you're playing a poke kind of support, you want to be zoning, you can and try to leave the peeling to the jungler or top laner if they're playing a bruiser type of champ.

Peeling is somewhat of an art form because you need to know when and where to be. You want to keep a fair amount of space between you and your carry as most of the time the enemy will have AoE CC. Also, while you can always try to save a teammate, sometimes you're going to have to let them die to get a better result (ie, we trade our mid for a triple and drag or our carry and two top towers).

Shen support is an odd one as you need amazing map awareness of all your teammates just like you would play him top lane. As for Tahm, not much I can say as I've never played him and don't really remember much from when I played other than they would always grab mid and adc and run to safety or be an absolute menace to the enemy carry and force their team to focus on to him.

People underestimate the flexibility of Braum, especially his ability to force fights in lane with his W on minions. He's one of those champions that can make fights happen whilst still being good at peeling too. Might want to grab him. In 4 years of solo queue supporting experience, if you ask me it's the supports that can make things happen in lane and get the snowballl rolling that tend to win. As for Shen support? I've honestly never seen the appeal of it, even when he's my main top laner. He's too gold and position reliant for bot if you ask me... But then I've had by face kicked in by support Shens in the past :P

The problem with low ELO support is that you rely a lot on low ELO-minded ADCs and related. So if you play a total dependent support, like Kench, you're going to likely end up getting outpaced if your ADC isn't on board. Don't chase. Don't expose or over-expose yourself. And be prepared to give up a TON of turrets when you end up in the lane solo. I advise for lower ELO you try aggressive solo-lane type supps. Brand, Annie, Zyra to name a few.
