I really don't know how playing with autofilled teammates is fair

So I had someone who got autofilled into jungle, the most important role in the game. He didn't know how to play so he asked to swap. We said no. Idk about the others, I said no because I didn't know how to jungle either. Get this: We had an autofilled jungler against a jungle main in a ranked game in diamond. And of course, the enemy jungler was all over the place carrying his team and ours didn't do much. Now I'm not blaming the guy, it wasn't his fault. But this happens a lot of autofill and I think it is very unfair, if not for the autofilled player (because supposedly he knows how to play all roles), then at least for the rest of the team. Edit: Happened again in my next game. Autofilled jungler who doesn't know how to jungle against the same jungle main. And of course we lost again.

I get the frustration but I am curious how does this differ from when people got their main roles taken Via pick order and had to play roles they are bad at. Autofill at least provides protection which prevents a player from being screwed outta their role back to back games. I keep recommending folks pick up a support hero they like and play them in ranked when they are around 70lp to turn on role protection to try and get their main roles into promo. Also Its good that folks communicate and swap, but a team who chooses to not swap roles is not something new and has been a part of champion selection from season 1. Also more folks playing support is less folks being auto filled to support so its win/win.
If any one else has a better system or idea I would be happy to hear it. (in advance let me say EVERBODY NEEDS TO LEARN ALL ROLES STUPID! is something I disagree with as a viable or realistic option)
