why im done for the season

i took 4 weeks off and my friends convinced me to come back. i thought about it and said why not. i was wrong to even want to try. 3 games and 2 of them have afks. one game had 2 and another had 1 and the it was adc who quit mid game. ive played maybe 18 games this season and having afks in at least 33% of my games is unacceptable. 6 games of 18 in my season had afks making them 4 v 5. why wont riot make the game "loss forgiven" if a person afks mid game and wont come back? punish the guy who afks with a loss of lp and a ban from ranked play only on only a 2nd offense. increase the penalties for the 3rd an the continued afk habit. the lp penalty should be -50 lp and you can go negative with the penalty. so that players have to get wins to negate the number of negative lp they have. i wish riot would act on this issue sooner than later and stop dragging there knuckles. done for the season and not coming back. how can u climb if u cant have 5 v 5 games when u try to climb. can the guys who make this game climb out of b5 when they have a 33% of handicap match?

not with propsed penalties i laid out. -50 lp and a ban from ranked for a period of time. if it happens again the penalty gets worse so make it a -75 lp on the 3rd offense with a 7 day ban from ranked play only. and increase the punishments along these lines

Making the punishments so severe so quickly is unfair to someone who might have left the game for reasons they had no control over (internet/power going out, computer busting, etc.). There has to be a balance. And honestly having an afk doesn't need to be that terrible of an experience...just let the game go, go do something else, and move on to the next one. If it's lp you're concerned about, on average the enemy team should have an afk just as often.

since most players swear they only go afk one time over a huge amount of games then the punishment on the 2nd offense should be a non issue. if people have real stuff that is epicly important going on why are they playing this game? just a thought

My friends wife went into labor right as we got into the game. We dominated that 4v5. Granted, it was normals, but the point remains that it's not a good policy to expect people to know when everything important well happen in their life.

so what? cat on fire or surprise child birth, that's obviously a very good reason for you to leave, but it's for you, other people don't care of your problems, with internet, with cat, with wife, with life, it's your problems, not mine. you should get in-game punishment anyway. if your real life problems are serious, you won't care anyway

Speak for yourself please...that is a very inconsiderate way to look at things. I don't want other people to be punished if they have good reasons for what they are doing.

even with your point of view punishment is the only way, because you don't know if they lie about their problems or not while those who actually have a problem don't care of some leaverbuster

I dunno, there's always going to be some people who get unlucky two or three times in a row for whatever reasons. Maybe the power goes out one day and the next their internet drops or something. Or there is some emergency that happens midgame. Who knows...in my case, for example, my computer started black screening every so often for a period of time and it booted me out of games at least twice (even though I reconnected like 6 minutes later) before I realized that it was a consistent problem and that I shouldn't play league on my laptop until it's fixed. There are already escalating punishments in place as is, and I think they are pretty fair. Having significant penalizations on only the second offense is a bit extreme in my opinion.

yeah you will lose games because of afk's, but you will also win games because of afk's. It all averages out if you play more than 20 games.
