Why does Kayne not use energy?
Not only is he from Ionia but he's from zed's dojo, shouldn't he use energy.

I think the reason he has mana & not energy is because they want to make him easier to balance after his eventual op status
Because have you seen his kit? Giving him the ability to pass through walls for basically free would be extremely retarded on Riot's part, thankfully they realized that and decided to give him mana. Not to mention what the rest of his kit does and the bonus effects it gets based on forms.
I'm happy he's mana gated. I want him to end up in a state where he has clear strengths but doesn't end up perma banned. Having energy would essentially throw him in discussions with Lee Sin and Yasuo. That is something I definitely don't want.
Because he needs to be gated somewhere.
