Should Riot make more unpopular items for the sake of diversity.

for example a 2/3 Triforce, It would just be there for champ who don't really synergies well with all component of Triforce item 3044 +item 3101 = rework zephyr (tenacity attack speed item) item 3057 +item 3101 = a modern ionic spark(Every fourth autoattack and sheen proc unleash a chain lighning) item 3044 + item 3057 = a reverseitem 3025 where it leave a speed zone instead

A lot would probably stick with item 3078 or other item 3057 , item 3044 , item 3101 item but it would be nice to have options, even if it's not popular options.

Riot really doesn't have any diversity at all. Maybe as far as weapons go, but as far as defensive items. It's the same 4 or 5 items every game.

item 3194 item 3065 for MR item 3742 item 3143 for armor

Rarely do other items get thrown in there. And items like item 3091 which could potentially be a fun use see no viability since tanks don't want them and it doesn't have enough damage to want to use them offensively.

Adaptive Helm is a terrible item and if you're building it over SV ever you're doing something wrong.

You clearly have zero clue what's going on. SV is clearly posted there. 2nd, there are many instances where AH is very useful. Likewise how Abyssal is now. I don't know how they do things in oce, but here we actually try to be constructive.

Have you ever tried doing the math on Adaptive VS SV?

Ignoring the fact that SV has 5 more MR and SVs passive entirely, let's just compare 150 HP to 15% reduced damage. How much damage do you have to take for 15% reduced damage to be equal to 150 HP? That would be 150/0.15=1000 damage that's reducible by Helm before it breaks even ignoring 2 of SV's strengths. How often do you think you actually take 1000 damage, realistically more that's reducible by Helm? I'd say that's pretty damn rare.

Helm isn't even on SVs level. If there's a secondary MR item it's definitely Abyssal, which at least does something unique rather than just being a poor SV. Helm is a trap item.

Again, bloody clueless. SV was listed you twit!

The point wasn't that SV wasn't listed, it's that Adaptive Helm shouldn't be. It's a garbage trap item that you'd only ever consider against a team with 3+ magic damage dealers after you already have a SV.

except visage got nerfed really hard

if it had kept the 200% regen it would have been the better all round item for tanks

but without that it just isn't

none of them are very strong and mostly situational like Adaptive or kit dependant like visage and abyssal though we do have the option to build all 3 of em for a decent magic defense

To be honest? If you're against someone who does a lot of damage through using a single ability multiple times, aka anyone who has the potential to actually kill a tank (that's not everyone, things like Lux will chunk you but usually won't kill you until super lategame), taking 1k+ damage that can be blocked by Adaptive Helm isn't that unlikely, especially if considered before resists.

Bonus points if it's a Ryze Cassiopeia Ziggs Anivia , hell it actually counters Velkoz pretty hard (except his true damage wrecks you anyway) because it'd block a lot of his R damage, it's reduce his Q spam damage, and from the first W, his next 3 would be reduced.

there's also the new item 3001 for MR and item 3068 +item 3025 for armor. I don't think defensive itemization is that undiverse.

I'm not sure about those specific items, but I definitely feel like niche items like Zephyr were and are good for the game. To be honest your idea for Zephyr would probably work even if the others may have some problems, if only because it would have a unique niche that isn't basically bad Triforce.

I think your other two items run into too many conflicts of use. Your first item's always going to struggle to differentiate itself from Statik Shiv, it will probably just turn out that in crit heavy metas Shiv outshines it and vies versa. Your second item is just Black Cleaver without the shred in terms of use case, I really struggle to see anyone wanting it over BC assuming they were similarly priced.

If I was going to do an item in the vain of Ionic Spark I'd probably look at something like

item 2015 + item 1043 + item 1028 + item 1028 50% AS, 350HP, 25 magic damage on hit (2800 gold) Passive: Moving will make your attacks energised, additionally melee attacks provide 25 stacks Unique Passive - Chain Lightning: When fully stacked your next attack will chain lightning on up to 4 targets for 30+10xlevel magic damage, +50% for melees.

Clearly differentiated from Shiv in terms of use, far better on champs like Irelia and Jax rather than Kog and Vayne.

that'd be cool

I would prefer it if there were more defensive and also offensive mAge+defense stat items that DONT have cdr, cause when im playing gragas and have ibg and SV+masteries and wanna pick up something like mogs or hourglass or bveil and im just like....damn wasted stat allocation fml.

that many sheen items O.O

i would have loved for something along the lines of item 3104 for summoners rift possibly something like item 3057 + item 3052 + item 3801

possibly as a sheen item which deals damage in a line applying a sheen effect and a dot scaling with bonus health

something like 3500 gold 500 HP 250 mana 10% cdr 15 AD 100% hp regen

Unique passive - spell blade: After using an ability, your next basic attack (on-hit) deals (75% base AD) bonus physical damage to the first target hit (1.5 second cooldown).

(melee only) applies an additional 5% of bonus health true damage over time effect in a small cone lasting 1.5 seconds and grounding targets affected
