All I want for Preseason 6 is a Hybrid %Pen item

Somewhere between 25 and 30% hybrid penetration that shares a named passive with Void and Whisper to prevent them from stacking. This is, literally, the only thing that's needed for champions with hybrid scaling to actually build hybrid and work.

'But wait!' you say. 'How will I itemize defense against hybrid %pen?'

Man, if only there were a stat that offered equal protection against both magic and physical damage. But it's too bad there's nothing like that, huh?

It might make a few hybrid scaling champions a little silly for a patch or two, but that's what targeted nerfs are for, right?

Health doesn't really do the same thing as resistances here... especially against hybrid pen.

Resistances allow you to have a very high effective health, where as building health cannot reach the same levels. You'd be better off building two health/resistance items than building straight health, and that takes a lot longer than building one hybrid pen item does. That, at least in my opinion, is why in order to have hybrid pen you will always have to build two items.

Okay, just to say?

To get optimal EHP against someone with Void/Whisper you need 2.4k HP for every 100 relevant resist.

That's a fucking lot.

If the proposed item only gave 25% hybrid penetration, armor/resist wouldn't get degraded by it nearly as much as Whisper/Void. Always keep in mind that the power of %pen goes up exponentially with the %pen value, not linearly. 25% resist pen is MUCH weaker than 35%. So a hybrid pen user would be paying for less penetration against both resist types, but getting more diverse damage in return. It would be a trade off which I'm sure Riot would easily be able to crunch the numbers for to find an ideal value.

There Aatrox are Corki a Evelynn lot Jax of Akali champions Kayle who KogMaw would Malzahar benefit MissFortune from Poppy this Shyvana item Varus . Many of whom could really use a leg up. MF, for example, would be GREAT right now if she could add an item like this to her build.

If nothing else, Riot could just introduce some more double-resist items (or buff Portal some more) into the game to serve as a solid soft-counter to improving hybrid itemization.

I always thought it would be cool for there to be an Item that gave you a small amount of Ad and armor lets say 25 each and when your about 50% hp you gain a bonus 20 attack damage and once you drop below 50% you lose the additional 20 attack damage and gain an additional 20% armor. Same goes for an ap item
