Your team has no tank and you are the midlaner....
What is YOUR solution?
What is YOUR solution?
Watch them cry as they slowly discover that this isn't an AP Gragas as you hamfist them and their jungler to death.

No, legit, this is what I always do.
Chogath is totally legit, I will not deny it
Dodge
There are days when I feel like this is the only option.... Especially when my team comp is

However it also depends on the enemy team comp. If they are all kitable you don't need a tank just disengage....
Your team has no tanks? Pick a control mage. Or a hard carry enhancer.
for the first solution,
for the second. It's basically to protect your carries that you do that. It's not because you play a squishy champion that you don't bring something to your comp lacking tanks. Some full squishy comps based on kite and winning skirmishes are extremely strong. No tanks, right now, doesn't mean much.
I play Garen. He's no tank, but when it comes to tanky mid lane capable champions he's my go to option.
If I want to be a tank:

If I want someone else to be the tank:

I go Swain, and go with my Swainstain build.
Ap mage?
By luden's/enough ap to instakill a minion wave, mana/regen to handle long sieges, and some bulkiness/movement speed to not die.
Lean as far back as possible and stall waves and thus the enemy team indefinitely. Wait for them to mess up first.
Make sure they don't have a tank either :^)

are we speaking champ select or in-game already? both are situational
Champ select... Usually in these kinds of games, My team has 2 assassins and the enemy ALWAYS has a couple of people with a lot of sticking power...
If their team is something that I trust we can beat without a tank line, then I go ahead and pick something I'm comfortable in (usually Xerath). if they have team where a tank line is necessary, then I would probably dodge
I've always been tempted to see what happens if I bring a Leona midlane against Zed or Fizz or Leblanc
Somebody capable of escaping

For example
lanes where he pleases. And sometimes, he pleases mid.
You don't 100% need a tank. IDK why low elos feel that if you don't have a tank you auto lose
I would never count on a low elo team to have the coordination to win a game without teamfighting. That's why having a tank is so important.
I win games on my smurf by never grouping. Pick a split pusher or assassin like Rengar and do your own thing.
The point is that you can win with anything in low elo if you are better.
There is a very big difference between split pushing in high elo and split pushing in low elo. Split pushing in high elo is about a constant counterbalance of pressure on different parts of the map with absolutely minimal fighting. Split pushing in low elo is all about just getting super fed and then 1v2ing or even 1v3ing in a side lane while your team does nothing most of the time. Split pushing in high elo is a team strategy that requires the coordination of all 5 members to be successful. Split pushing in low elo is a solo strategy where you just keep pushing and pushing and pushing until eventually the enemy team just doesn't send enough to stop you and you kill their entire base.
Pick a champion that can zone and deal a lot of damage, even to tanks. You don't need a tank if you have massive CC or shit tons of long range damage. You can also play a champion that can peel as easily as they deal damage, like Lux.
