Revert the thornmail nerf please...

So that people could stop permabanning & QQing about Fiora. 90% of her damage is physical, and it comes from auto-attacks + her Q applies on-hit effects thus proc'ing thornmail.

item 3075 was also good against RivenMasterYiTryndamereYasuoRengarFizz and all ADCs. Now it's purely garbage and a total waste of item slot.

http://champion.gg/champion/Fiora

According to that she actually deals about 75% of her damage as physical. Just saying.

That website is not accurate, it doesn't specify the time-phase in which Fiora's true damage increases to 20% of her total damage. Remember that the passive scales off BONUS AD, and the scaling also scales off her level; [2.7% + (0.1% per lvl)] per 100 bonus AD, with a base damage of 3%. So yeah, 90% of Fiora's damage is physical (at least early-mid game)

Like I said, that website isn't accurate, it even claims that the highest win % core build on Irelia contains 2 Spirit Visages...

Serevas2 votes

It's a site that compiles data and creates averages. So that would mean that in a typical game her damage composition would average 21% true damage, sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less.

There's obviously someone building 2 spirit visages on Irelia somewhere as it's data being pulled straight from the servers. The reason it probably shows up as a highest win rate is it's likely against a heavy magic damage team comp, and she counters most magic damage dealing top laners.

That would be late game, in mid-early game her true damage is only 10% of her total damage. Like I said, the website doesn't provide the specific time-phase in which, Fiora's true dmg increases to 21% of her total damage.

Excuse me, you build Spirit Visage mainly for the 20% healing increase, if their team comp deals so much magic damage, then build a banshee's + spirit visage, not 2 spirit visages, it's just a waste of item slot since it's passive is UNIQUE.

The website is inaccurate.

Serevas1 votes

Spirit visage stats: 400HP 60MR 150% increased base health regen 10% CDR 20% increased healing

Banshee's Veil stats: 450HP 60MR 100% base health Regen Spellshield

There's a few differences between the two items, and on a champion that builds very little CDR, there's a chance that just maybe they're looking at the CDR for late game team fights, but what do I know.

You're clearly having a hard time with the word "average" so it is what it is.

Conturbatio1 votes

I've never seen ANY Irelia build double Spirit Visgaes even against heavy AP teams.

Stop claiming some damn automated online scripts to be accurate. I remember a Red Post claiming that Riot's own API isn't 100% accurate, and those websites use Riot's API. So please, stop.

Oh and btw, Banshee's veil negates the damage of an entire spell, so why build something with less HP for its CDR? Irelias build attack speed not CDR.

Serevas1 votes

You're right, you've never seen it happen so it's impossible. Just like how there's only a single way to build Irelia. Solid logic right there.

You also use the example of a completely unconventional rework not translating properly in the code to justify something you've never seen. ADC Mordekaiser, not showing up properly vs someone building a duplicate item. Bit different don't you think?

For future reference, Attack speed is great, but that doesn't cause you to get more use out of Hiten Style (A fair portion of her damage) as well as more Equilibriums off in fights. Since they are flat cooldowns after all. Why would you ever want to use Hiten style more than a single time every 15 seconds, shame on people for thinking outside the box and attempting to squeeze more out of their abilities.

Conturbatio1 votes

Maybe I've never seen it cuz they only build it in bronze.

7% of Vi's damage is true, according to that "accurate" website. It doesn't specify anything, literally. The true damage could come from Ignite, Red buff, Skirmisher's Sabre, Elixir of Sorcery, and it gets mixed with the champion's damage. Your argument is invalid. Fiora's true damage isn't 21% of her total damage.

Serevas1 votes

So because it doesn't specify where the true damage of vi comes from it's immediately invalid? That's some logic there.

Example 1: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1951278937/32354173?tab=stats

There's a high elo player of Fiora. 26k damage to champions, 5.3k of that is true damage. 20.38% of damage to champions = true damage.

Example 2: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1950247347/32354173?tab=stats

10.9k damage to champions, 2k true damage. 18.3% of damage to champions = true damage.

Example 3: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1951680140/32354173?tab=stats

37.6k damage to champions, 11.3k true damage. 30% of damage dealt to champions = true damage.

The average of the three games comes to 22.99% of her damage composition as true damage. Maybe the reason your true damage is so low is you're not popping the marks properly. And this example is Wings of Death, who isn't consistent in the first place, dealing that much true damage in a game.

And for the record that site only takes games from plat and above, so no it's not because it's done in bronze. If you could read you would have seen the nifty text that says "platinum+ ranked" in the corner.

Conturbatio1 votes

Can't you understand? 20% of her damage is true damage, THE WHOLE GAME. At level 1, it will NEVER deal that much damage! I said many damn times that the site doesn't specify the time-phase in which Fiora's true damage increases to 20% of her total damage!

I didn't say that the site is invalid (your argument is), I only said that it's "inaccurate".

Serevas1 votes

And I specified multiple times that 20% is an average, do you know what the word average actually means? Early game sure it's going to be less, late game it's going to be more, so a person with some common sense could say "Gee if average is the word being used, perhaps assuming the mid game would be a sensible conclusion?" Since an average basically gives you the statistical middle point of a list of numbers, don't you think middle might be a logical place to think of it?

I'm sure as hell not going to level 1 a thornmail either, so I don't see how you consider that even half of a viable argument. Thornmail wouldn't even be a first buy in the first place, especially not now.

At levels 1-6 maybe 90% of her damage is physical, but that's not the part that's a problem, post 6 + items is the problem with Fiora not her laning phase.

Please explain how my argument is invalid? All I'm seeing is "The website doesn't break down the damage and it could come from several places, so your argument is invalid." Which makes no sense as it's still the average true damage dealt by the champion as a whole, ignite and red buff doesn't do that much damage, even if Fiora were to have them both going. Nobody is going to buy Elixir of Sorcery on Fiora, at least not enough for it to have statistical relevance. Likewise for Skirmisher's saber for a smite fiora top lane. Honestly, you're coming up with complete garbage arguments and then calling mine invalid due to some weird misguided thing where you think Fiora's true damage is coming from somewhere other than her kit in enough games to make it statistically relevant, when the fact is that it's not, the vast majority if not the entirety of her damage is coming straight from her kit, and it's a serious number, in fact on average it's higher than Vayne's true damage output. I don't get how you can say that my argument is invalid, when I'm presenting you with direct statistical evidence that your claims are incorrect.

For that matter I'm done arguing because I'd have better luck talking a shark down from eating me than getting you to comprehend simple logic, statistics, and basic mathematics.

Conturbatio1 votes

How about you just make your own mathematical calculations instead of depending on a website? And I know what the word "average" exactly means, that's why I said "IT DOESN'T SPECIFY ANYTHING, IT'S NOT REALLY ACCURATE"

Like holyshit all you do is use someone else's bot to "clarify" your argument.

Jungle Fiora will usually get skirmisher's, she doesn't only play top lane. I used the Elixir of Sorcery as an example of true damage source, since the website doesn't specify shit.

Oh, finally you're done arguing? Me too, it's a complete waste of time to talk with Bronzies anyways.

The thornmail change is incredibly stupid. Sure, against a 5 man ad comp where you stack armor out the wazoo its great, but we gotta face reality, that's not normally the case. You buy thornmail for the armor, and maybe youd buy another armor item and then youd focus on stacking hp or magic resist. Thornmail pretty much forces you to focus on armor only, penalizing you for trying to build against the mid lane.

Sure, maybe Rammus or Taric likes the new change, but that's it.

'90% of her damage is physical'

Ehrrmmm I'm pretty sure more than 10% of her damage is max health true damage, which Thornmail is completely inefficient against

Conturbatio1 votes

Just because a small portion of her damage is true damage doesn't negate the fact that her physical damage is huge and 100% comes from auto-attack (her Q applies on-hits).

Thornmail is good even against Vayne: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wr3qP-ypd8

Dudenottheface1 votes

The issue isnt the thornmail being bad. There is just WAY to much lifesteal in the game right now and that needs to be addressed.

I feel if I have a champ with thornmail there is no way a AA champ should be able to still heal off me.

If anything buff the thornmail to 25% reflect plus 25% of your bonus armor.

Conturbatio1 votes

Thornmail's change should be reverted and buffed to 40% up from 35%.

Sasogwa1 votes

Actually old thornmail was like, really really strong. But ofc that doesn't change the fact the current one is garbage, or like, good only on huge armor champions like rammus/malph

GodSupport Katie1 votes

You do realize thornmail still negates lifesteal right? Not even BT can cut through the thornmail passive.

Conturbatio1 votes

The old one, yes The current one, no

GodSupport Katie1 votes

Yes it can, 200 armor is more than enough to negate the LS of BT and bork.

ADC; 270 AD; Last Whisper + BT + BOTRK Tank; 200 Armor; Thornmail & other tanky items (3500 HP)

with LW & armor pen masteries, the tank will remain with about 100 armor (50% less damage) which means that the adc will steal 270:2 ' 0.3 = 135 ' 0.3 = 40.5 HP thornmail will reflect: (270'0.15) + (200'0.25) = 40.5 + 50 = 90.5 magic damage (didn't count botrk's % current hp passive) ADCs usually have 50 mr (35% less damage), which means that thornmail will deal 90.5'0.65 = 58.825 magic damage. Thornmail's resisted damage = 58.825 - 40.5 = 18.325 damage per AA

With botrk's passive: ADC AA damage on full hp tank = [270 + (3500'0.08)]:2 = [270 + 280]:2 = 550:2 = 275 Physical damage Lifesteal: 275'0.3 = 82.5 Thornmail will reflect: (550'0.15) + (200'0.25) = 82.5 + 50 = 132.5 Thornmail's resisted damage: 132.5'0.65 = 86.125 damage when full HP Thornmail's ACTUAL damage: 86.125 - 82.5 = 3.625 damage item 3070Amumu

Conclusion: More AA damage = Less Thornmail damage

Thornmail is in a poor spot but it doesn't need the mini-rework to be reverted merely change the armor ratio from 25% to 35-40%
