Why am I not surprised?

So our mid laner picked Akali, and one of our teammates reminded them she was nerfed into the ground. All the mid laner said was 'I know, I'm just glad I can play her in peace now lol'. She proceeded to crank out 26 kills and 9 assists. Probably lightning in a bottle but figures I'd get a game where an Akali still pops up (thankfully I wasn't on the receiving end LOL)
