Rylai's on Vel'Koz??

so I just saw the phylol about rylais and which champions will be better because of the new changes, and he said that vel'koz is one of those champs. Im a 2tp (vel'koz and zilean) and I never saw rylais as a viable item on vel'koz. Vel'koz's combo relies on landing his q....which is a 70 slow.... then his e knockup, and then while the enemy is suspended you w them, and then possibly ulti.. notice anything there? Vel'Koz's combo already has a decent cc chain to land his abilities, so why should he have rylais??

counter arguements:

  1. to apply both w procs! Most of vel'koz's damage comes from his passive, which requires 3 ability hits to proc. His w only applies 2 marks, and isnt as fast/easy to land as vel'koz q, so it really doesnt work.
  2. To synergize with liandries so the reason you even build liandry's on vel'koz is for the ulti, and kinda his q. Although its really hard to notice, Vel'Koz applies a 20% slow to people caught in the ray, thus procing the 4% burn.

Im not Korean, so theres probably a reason for rylai's on vel'koz that I dont know, so pls point it out in the comments :D

i woud'nt buy it on him anymore too.

I mean, his Q + Ult slow, his E is a knockup so his only spell that would apply the slow effectively would be W.

It's so his pick potential for his team with only Q goes up; it's also cheaper now so there's that.

i mean it did give good stats also. but now that the stats got nerfed i dont see why you'd get it on him over liandrys

I imagine his W being a fairly easy land. If that spell was given the ability to slow, that would just set up the rest of your spells in your kit. (But I don't actually know, how useful that actually is? Or what the alternative is?)

I liked Ryali's on Vel'koz because it meant you could abuse the slow it added to your W to guarantee you'd hit Q and E together as well as the W proc. I could see it both ways though, it's obviously not an item he needed / needs at all. He's pretty flexible buildwise.
