Auto-fill, is interesting to say the least.
I'm not against auto fill, but it seems its brought back an old issue, that is seen very commonly in blind pick. Lies, deception and manipulation of unwillingly attributed players. In theory, if players had picked not a meta, but a utility player, their wouldn't be a problem. But, Whats going on with this riven, lee sin, karthus, syndra and all these random champions who need cs to reach a pivitol point in the game, mark them selfs into a loosing lane, and further more a losing game. This is happening in ranked games, quite frequently. I can understand others disapproval with the whole "meta" discussion, but truth be told their isn't a stratified unique meta in league any more. Bot lane is going to be a combination of two champions that work extremely well with each other.
I don't understand it, and riot might need to rethink the whole auto fill. I was not against the 9 to 10 que times for everyone to get what they wanted, for the most part. You were getting your primary or secondary, people understood match ups when they had their preference filled and the players who picked support for a quicker que time stood out and were swiftly dealt with.
The system is no broken, it makes a lot of sense, when dealing with the lower population areas, like challenger, and master.
What auto fill accomplished, was something riot has done before. Cater to the highest skill cap players. So people like I will dominate could avoid having diamond 2 players in his master's game. For everyone else tho, the 85% of the community, we get sidelined and have a terrible quality of games. Games shouldn't be decided by which team is forced into playing a role and lose's because the player doesn't know or understand the role.
Its the same thing, almost every game. Can I mid, Ok we'll we lose, because you won't let me mid. I rather wait ten minutes to avoid seeing that kind of blunt force negativity in my league experience.
Its not just one game, its multiple ones. They are not always on my team, but it directly ruins players mmr, so then they are actually draged down from the skill area they should be in. I think its a fair statement to say, that catering to the lowest percentage, is not going to make the game flourish. Those players at the top are for the most part, making money of your free game. They aren't the ones generating your revenue to continue to let your business run.
I'f im playing support, I don't want the person assigned to bottom, playing a bruiser, and vice versa. If i'm playing a marksmen bottom, I don't want to have a hiemerdinger support. Auto fill makes this possible more frequently then it was happening before.
