Is this a hard game?

op.gg says I'm in the top 22% of players, I was gold last season and I know that I have a lot to improve on still, which sounds strange. I know its still early in the season, but why aren't there more players in gold and higher? Last season gold 5 was good enough for top 18% or something, Is this just a really hard game? Is it that 5 randoms have to work together? Do people not really care? Maybe number of champions is a factor, along with "balance" tweaks every patch? Anyone have any ideas or thought please voice them.

Merry Christmas :)

People don't listen, simple as that.

This is a hard game for me. I'm in my 30's and notice my reaction time is not as good as the people I play with/against. This is the first MOBA I've ever played and therefore the lane wave strategy went over my head for at least a year since nobody informed me of it.

I climbed through bronze as a jg WW my first season, Then it was mid Kass/Cass, last year I did support and this year I'm doing ADC.

I typically don't marry a champ either. The ones I love I continue to play but never as consistently as when I first started them and got good with them.

I've played at the gold level before and have beaten good high diamond mains mid lane to mid lane. While I was learning mid I had some very talented friends helping me out and learning the ropes. To be honest, consistently performing that many actions all the time at that level was demanding on my wrists and fingers. I would not be able to play that many games a day were I good enough to be plat/diamond.

For me, personally, to climb to gold I would have to spam probably Janna, Nami, and Bard all day and hope I got lucky on matchups. I don't want to do that all season.

Well, one reason is that a lot of bronze/silver players have many accounts because they don't believe they belong in bronze/silver and only ended up there due to luck. They then try to luck their way into gold or higher and claim they are gold, despite being unable to climb at that point.

Also, LoL tricks a lot of people into thinking they are competitive when they're really casuals that just want to win. They don't care how they win. That leads to an extremely bottom-heavy ladder as well.

Number of champions isn't a huge factor. There are plenty of 1-tricks with thousands of games more than me that still can't climb out of bronze.

Balance tweaks every patch don't matter much either. I play one of the worst (and most predictable) champions in the game and can climb to plat+ pretty easily.

Most players are just really bad at League. I'm not good at league (I don't even pink ward) and I can hit plat. That says something.

How old are you? I'm just curious because you have a massive inherent advantage over all of your opponents that you aren't acknowledging. You also may be able to just focus better for longer periods of time than these other people. But to say you aren't "good" is doing a disservice to millions of people.
