Soraka is pretty broken. She was already pretty broken, but now with new masteries... Holly shit. With soraka as my support I can basically play like a chicken with my head cut off... its dumb.

Soraka is basically unbeatable in lane now but the thing is that Rito made everything else broken too so it doesnt really matter lol.

I mean really I can't stress this enough. Soraka is your lane to lose, not hers to win. If all you do is beat on her ADC all day yes she is going to out sustain you and you will lose that lane 100% of the time. This isn't because of her but because you are bad it is really hat simple. Stop beating on the ADC that is getting healed for Jesus and attacked the champ that CAN'T be healed. This isn't complicated and I have no clue why people are so clueless as to this.

My expierience with Soraka lately (playing her myself, not playing against her) is that she actually has pretty nice kill pressure with her AA range and Q range+ damage especially if you hit the slow and especially especially if you start item 3303. That itself wouldnt be too bad, but her rank 2 W literally healed my adc for 230 every few seconds while giving them 5-10 armor and MR. Thats honestly way too much considering her own heal on Q. If her positioning fails mid- late game you might catch her and win but if the Soraka player isnt as bad as me... youre gonna suffer lol.

Martyrofsand2 votes

Um really the positioning isn't near as big as deal as people want to make it out to be. She has to be close to the person she is healing in order to heal them, her kit literally forces her into unsafe locations in order to do what she is suppose to do. If you can't take advantage of that it is very much on you.

If you lose to Soraka there is no excuse you 100% played badly and deserved the loss you got. She is a champion with zero agency and zero control over the game state, she is completely dependent on her opponents constantly failing when playing against her.

Immagine if clerity was still on SR and she can just keep spamming Q and healing and healing and healing....

Sona is strong too... If weather you get the mastery to heal more OR the every 3 attacks things because it goes soo well with her passive!

The every third AA/spell doesn't sound all that good with her passive tbh. I mean Q+AA is only 2 hits on the target and it's every third hit so it's only in sustained match-ups where you will really see it work, IE R+Q+AA in order to proc it. Might be ok for burst but the combined 10% bonus healing/shield from cunning and 8% self healing/shield from resolve gives Sona a lot of staying power in lane and lets poke stack up pretty effectively.

Im confused what your trying to tell me..

every third spell /aa

If you W and E.. You have the passive from the mastery... Q to get sona passive and boom.. INSTA DAMAGE..

You do what you do... you know.. to each their own.. Why'd you downvote..? Did I offend you by saying sona might be good with a certain mastery??

W and E don't damage an opponent, which is what you need for setting off Thunderlord's decree. My opinion is that mastery set is going to be best for going against Leona/Thresh/Blitzcrank where your goal is to brutally punish a missed engage, while the sustain should give you an edge vs poke/sustain lanes.

If you want the burst in a poke lane, it'd be the most reliable going Power Chord auto E->Q->auto.

Actually I recommend (starting at 2 stacks of your passive) Auto> Powerchord Auto (powerchord resets Sona's attack timer) > E for a really quick trade.

1--I didn't downvote you.

2--Thunderlord's Decree only procs on every third damaging spell or AA that you do to a champ meaning W and E are completely irrelevant to the ability. This means that pre 6 you will need to AA-Q-AA in order to proc it on someone, which can be difficult for Sona with how squishy she is. Post 6 you add a little more burst damage to your combo, prolly around 65ish depending on your set up. This is oppose 10% additional healing and shield, something Sona's W double dips in, and 8% additional self healing/shield, which is again something her W double dips and gives her some desperately needed survivability.

Thunderlord's might have a place if you are with a burst ADC, like perhaps Graves, but I don't see it as a serious contender when compared to Windspeaker's blessing.

Ah okay.. damaging spells..

But why? It would of been a great if it stacked with non damaging spells.. because if you W and E and than Q to set off the mastery and than get your passive and just deal a TON LOAD of damage... would of been great...

Now I see what you mean. I also tried it in a game, It worked nice for early damage but later on i realized naa...

Also.. One thing i noticed.... It doesnt really have any indecator when it will go off.. Kinda made me sad because how do you know?.. :(

If they added an indecator like a count like 1 2 then it showed the mastery brightly to indecate on next AA or Spell it will go off which would make great for calculated plays.

I would say she is stronger but still has the same big issues. She is super slow for a champion that needs to be hyper mobile to be effective, her Aura range is still painfully short, her heal is still weak / expensive, the shield is still on way to low a duration to be effective, and she is still reliant on 2-3 CDR items to finally get to on par with other champions.

The grievous wounds change affecting ignite pretty much makes any healer support broken, though Soraka seems to be the most OP by far.

Zoulzopan1 votes

care to explain? doesn't the item executioner's calling counter soraka + any heal/sustain champion? making them effectively worst if purchased really early?

Stellafreyja1 votes

They changed Grevious Wounds to only affect self-healing. Soraka's heals to her allies are unaffected by it.

Kill lanes/Roaming supports is how you handle soraka. If you cant kill her in lane then go else where and get other lanes going. Soraka has very little kill pressure in lane.

Welcome to what happens when you make nothing counter a champion outside burst/heavy sustained damage. Enjoy.

They should just increase her mana cost on Q,remove the damage on her E and increase the CD on Q.They said they wanted a dedicated healer who has to closely watch her resources.RIOT just has to do that.

<3 Soraka.

TotalJerk1 votes

It's not even the masteries, the support item changes combined with the refillable potion makes her even worse early to mid game. item 2033 is basically health that doesn't add on to her W cost.
