Let's Discuss: Fiora's Ultimate "Blade Waltz"

What are everyone's thoughts on it? I personally think it doesn't have nearly enough counterplay. And it is damn hard to predict too. I know that there are champions that have counters to it (I.E. Jax's E, Master Yi's Q, etc.), but there doesn't seem to be much that anyone else can do that is even remotely reliable. Build thornmail is fine. Build Zhonya's is fine. But what if you aren't a champion that could use those? Or even building those, there's no real guarantee. Let's imagine that Fiora jumps in at 1/4 HP. She has a Bloodthirster and a Ravenous Hydra. She ults and as soon as she's done, she's back to 1/2-3/4 health... and your team is dead. Though her ult does not DASH from person to person (it literally teleports her), let's compare it to Diana's ultimate, which DASHES to one person. Diana has to work for her ult (hit Q or long cooldown), and her ult can actually easily be interrupted. Diana can ult twice within quick succession, if she works for it. Fiora basically does 5 Diana ults (I know the damage drops with Fiora's ult when used on the same target, but not enough) with just pressing one button and clicking a champion.

In my opinion, her ult is way too reliable and has far too few counters. I can't be the only one that sees her ultimate as an issue, can I?

Yeah, Riot acknowledges that Fiora ult is terrible design that lacks counterplay. Her rework, though, has been shelved in favor of more pressing demands - like Sion's kit.

Guinsoo made a thread a while back discussing possibilities for the Grand Duelist's rework, but I don't know where to find it.

Personally, I don't feel that Fiora's ultimate is an issue since in her current state, it is her saving grace. Without it, I would find it extremely difficult to justify picking her. If we ignore the rest of Fiora's kit and consider Blade Waltz in isolation, I think it is a terrible ability to play against.

From what I recall of the proposed changes for Blade Waltz, it was made into an Overdrive mode. Activating Blade Waltz would make her other abilities have low cooldowns (1 or 2 seconds?) and grant her either: a) a finite number of casts (4/6/8 ability uses at reduced CD) or b) infinite number of casts in a limited time (infinite casts at reduced CD for 5/7/9 seconds).

The idea was to basically recreate the current Blade Waltz successive hits feel but with more input from Fiora while allowing more counterplay. I don't know if that is still the case.

Everyone can use Thornmail.

Her ultimate is an ugly gameplay flaw but her whole kit needs redone. Complaining about any single part of it is a waste of time. :(
