Seriously, it seems like every Ezreal I see is just terrible and gets outperformed. He pokes but when teamfights start the enemy Jinx or Tristana shreds us and with their lifesteal, the poke he lands is nothing.
How do I play with an Ezreal on my team, how can I help him actually carry?
Silver 2, played Ezreal off and on both AP and AD, but never really asked myself "what do I need from my team" before, so take this with a gain of salt.
"Maximize opportunities to poke" would be the most consistently right answer. Different Ezreal builds can act very differently in a team fight, and the experience and play style of the Ezreal can also vary wildly, but the one consistent factor is the poke. Every Ezreal is going to be looking to land lots of Q's.
If you can set up sieges. Q it's a great tool for keeping the enemy away from their tower or chipping away at their health before a fight, so the longer you can keep the "not team fighting yet" part going the better.
When the fight does break out, do what Blue Ezreal does best and kite. A team fight where people are all clumped together and attaching each other is generally bad for Ezreal unless he's ulting. Make sure no one dives Ezreal, because if they do he's going to be putting all his damage out into that guy instead of the enemy carries.
