Can someone explain why nasus has built in life steal?

Ok so i think everybody understands that late game nasus is so ungodly terrifying. Now because of that his early game is supposed to be very weak. which it is so im not complaining about that. but who thought it would be a good idea to give him built in life steal (and a very good amount by the way) so u cant even take advantage of his weak early game unless your playing a small list of very specific champions. Like i get it you gotta give him something to make it so he doesn't always gets dumpster early but why does it have to be healing. Or at least reduce the amount he gets from his passive or make it so he only gets life steal when attacking champions. Just a thought................ ok and a little bit of a rant lol

As a top laner, it's extremely important sustain that he needs to survive the early game. He wants to stay in lane as long as he can to farm, and that lifesteal makes it possible. Without it, he'll just never survive the laning phase without taking more fountain breaks then a pregnant woman taking pee breaks.

Even if they did give him a different passive, it would still have to be something that lets him stay in lane a long time anyway. Lifesteal is merely the simplest way to do that.

Thats like asking why jinx's gun is a ranged attack.

Its what makes nasus, nasus

Nasus lifesteal is scaling with levels (10/15/20 %) and is pretty pathetic earlygame, but snowballs if you let him get a lot of stacks.

Overall, with all the changes he got, Nasus has a really exponential scaling, first with scaling lifesteal and scaling Q, then with the getting of CDR, then with the % arpen and the % cd on Q with R, also resistances making lifesteal more efficient (more efficient health). That makes a really exponential curve of power. And if you done a bit of maths, an exponential curve's biggest weakness is its beginning, or a little bit after cause it scales less fast than a linear curve at first. And its greatest power is if it gets rolling, it gets to insane potentials. Aka Nasus weak early game, good late game (well, relatively. Cause adc's have quite the exponential power curves too (as x ad x crit x %arpen of lw x lifesteal), except it gets rolling at 2 items)

so he can stay in lane despite constantly spending his only real damage cooldown on minions.

Late game Nasus is weak actually. His life steal early isn't that good and he has nothing to fight back with early. It's reliant on attacking stuff meaning you can harass him when he's doing that.

They already nerfed the lifesteal he got early hard a long time ago.

Late game he is stupidly susceptible to CC aswell, don't get me wrong though, I hear you.

He can be strong, but there are so many other heroes that are truly op.

If you ever think that your champion cannot stop nasus from farming. For example Le blanc cant

Swap with botlane

It's should be lowered to 5/10/15. While you have to spend 900money (or runes+dorans blade) to get 10%lifesteal, he gets it for free, quite annoying (just like yas...).

Bionic Jellyfish10/26/2017, 3:02:12 AM1 votes

what? that lifesteal only works effectively if you let him farm for free for an extend period of time, which if you let him do that while you're still in in lane, you dont know how to lane against nasus

And what if his passive (Soul Eater) worked like tresh souls, where after killing an unit he gains %HP/a bit of life steal. Would it work? Even if not, it would be a nice passive, strange, but nice.
