Anyone feel like matchmaking is always lopsided since 6.9?

While I've enjoyed 6.9 and 6.10, as I thought tank meta was boring af, I think overall ranked play has been the least enjoyable I've ever experienced since the 6.9 patch.

Basically, it feels like 2 out of every 3 games have at least three feeders by 10 mins into the game. It happens just as regularly to other team as to my team, but it's boring either way because games are virtually always decided by 15 mins, but then being in silver elo, people don't understand the concept of group-snowball-to-end, so it drags on to 45 mins with a game that is completely lopsided and boring the whole way through.

At least with tank meta, games could be turned around fairly easily at my elo with enough farming and better team coordination. It gave you a reason to keep playing at 30 minutes. Now, it's just a waste of 40 minutes every freaking game. And if I'm on the feeder team, I don't even have the satisfaction of an easy S rating.

I've talked to a few people who feel the same way. Not sure if its just that snowballing is that much easier or if matchmaking kind of sucks now, but either way, playing ranked feels like a constant waste of time.

If you happened to read this and have tips for solo laners who have a chance at carrying 3 feeders at once, I'm all ears. I've been completely unable to do it from jungle, so I think I'm gonna start queuing mid/top.

It's cause the game more than ever is about picks. There's nothing you can do in a lot of match ups nowadays unless you're a smurf and this leads to a ton of people feeding early cause what are you gonna do vs trundle as a tank? vs yasuo as a mage? vs azir? vs zed? vs lb? It's just pick right or be forced to be 10x better than your opponent and Riot has been pushing this DoTA style of play since season 3 (just take a look at the mage reworks).

The best general role for solo Q isn't mid/top, where dynamic queue for some stupid reason doesn't give you a ban for being top pick, it's bot lane. ADCs will always be the most important member of a teamfight unless someone picked Azir and season 6 supps are living the dream of being able to impact the game more than mid/top w/o even needing gold (there's literally nothing a lot of outdated non powercreeped champs can do vs a good braum shield for example).

its just dynamic que. The sways in x players being able to be found in their certain roles with x players at division with x players that are playing together can obviously make some super matchmaking sways. There are too many variables with how many of these little matchmaking options there are. This is why people want solo que so bad. Its easier to match all solo players that have x mmr in the same tier because there is no gold 5 duoing with bronze 2 scale or whatever it may be.

Something changed, but it hasn't been right all season. The problem I found was that, as a 30, I kept getting matched with/against level 10's. Then with each new patch, queue times increased ... 3 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins.

I know, don't play norms noob. Ranked wasn't fun though. 1 person who afks or goes 0/10 is one too many. It's a waste of time and forces you to win twice to make up for them. It's 20 mins wasted plus the additional game later on to make up for it.

DynamicQ failed solo players and each patch seems to make matchmaking worse in both norms and ranked. I just want a good game a majority of the time. Stomping and being stomped isn't fun.

the solution is open mid about half my games end up in open mid by 5-10 minutes in

Other than the fact Dynamic Queue has the potential to really screw with matchmaking in Ranked, I'd say this problem of people feeding is more due to the current design of the game than matchmaking failures. Anecdotally, it seems like bottom lane is the most likely to either completely stomp or feed miserably, and I suspect it's due to how hard an ADC can snowball with current itemization.

There's also the fact that Lucian and Ezreal are essentially crowding everyone else out in their role, so when it's one of them against something else the lane can tend to swing wildly.

Yeah, the game is mostly decided by how the team does collectively. It's extremely hard to single handedly carry a game.

The role that has the easiest time single handedly carrying games is jungle, because it can apply pressure to all maps. If you can be prolific with ganking, and be successful, you'll be able to snowball all of your lanes.

For mid lane, roam. Roaming bot/top lane and applying pressure is good. You can shut down lanes if you pressure right and gank successfully.

Top lane: Save TP for bot lane ganks and dragon pressure.

Strong top laners for individual carrying Darius MonkeyKing Irelia Nasus Trundle Maokai Great in lane.

Your roster shouldn't be limited to those champions though. Picking champions to fill in what your team needs is good too. Like Malphite for an initiate, or Brand for poke. I know you want to carry single-handedly, but you will lose most games if your team is lacking in initiate, so pick accordingly

Orianna Learn this champ to play with Malphite, Amumu, Wu, orVi. Her ult is a game changer.

Rank means nothing. If someone is always playing a big premade and advances 3-4-5 divisions ,his rank is only reflective when he is playing within that premade. Which means when he tries to play solo, well...you know how it ends. That's the irony of this system, it encourage to group up so much, that when you do it so much and succeed, you learned nothing. So then you take your success to play games solo, and awe and behold everyone can see that you don't belong. Large Premade Gameplay != Solo Gameplay. And so much so that it should be divided into different queues(what a surprise)
