Went 23/2/12 with Leblanc and only got S- . Not complaining, just curious about how rating works.

Just wanted to see if anyone can tell me why I didn't hit S or what I could have done to change that, since I'm trying to reach lvl 7 mastery.

Is it because my cs was so low? I got fed early so I let my teammates take farm, but it seems like with my XP and damage output (http://i.imgur.com/D1k656L.jpg), I should have been fine.

I've had way worse games than this and got S or S+ so just curious if someone can give me some insights.

Based off your screenshot, I'd say it's because your CS wasn't that high for the time spent in the game. I know your KDA was awesome, but I think CS still factors in.

The following debate what grade you get:

Did you perform better than the average player at your elo with LB?

How well did you CS?

How many kills/assists did you get?

How many deaths?(to get an S grade, you basically cant die more than 2 times, unless you have a shiton of assists and kills you can get more deaths.)

How many dragons you helped defeat/baron

How many turrets you took.

How many wards you destroyed

How many wards you put down/pinks.

CS plays a big factor.

I've seen junglers go 14/0/8 in games and end up with an A+ or S- due to them only farming 50 cs in 30 min.

If he farmed 150+ cs and got 8/3/10 let's say, he probably woulda got an S.

I got an S+ with Taliyah, even though my score was only 4-1-18 as a mid laner. I think the key to getting an S or above lies mostly with CS, and towers taken. My CS for that 26 minute game was 261, and I killed 4 towers.

CS, KDA (its not the be all end all though), Wards (placed, bought, destroyed), Objective participation are my guesses. It then compares you to other players who play that specific Champion & Role combination.

Example: A Malzahar mid only gets compared to other mid Malzahar players. While a jungle Malzahar only gets compared to other jungle Malzahar players. Popularity at the time may also have an effect on the grading system also.

uses words like "only" puts a period at the end so we all "know hes serious" seems like complaining to me

Because it's very easy to get a good kda with assassins and ESPECIALLY Leblanc.

Its not the numbers pr se that determines it. The system checks your stats vs all the other LB peformances for the last X amount of time.

This means that OP snowball champs that have a narrow player base, are lilkey to have a high number of good performances.

So even though your peformance was good, it is not in the top top tier of the total amount of matches played with LB.

Find yourself a less played, hard to master champ with a wide player base, and it will be easier to make an S, since the total pool of games played will have a higher number of "bad games".

it takes into consideration your CS, and in this case, your CS was godawful.

Maybe unrelated, but keep in mind that the system rates your performance RELATIVELY to the performances of other people who play the same champ. In the case of a champ like LB, a strong KDA will be less impactful on your overall rank because the chances are more people than not will have high KDAs.

Your cs is awful and held you back from a higher rating.

Imagine going 17/0/16 and only getting an A+ :) :) :) :)

Can Riot please just sticky a thread titled "Low CS = Lower Mastery Grade"? This thread is a daily post.
