The entire purpose of having a resource besides mana is to have a very different feel and play style than mana users with different strengths and weaknesses.

Energy isn't supposed to have all the strengths of mana with none of it's weaknesses.

When will the energy pool get some love??

Zed and Lee Sin have been omnipresent picks at the competitive level, ranked, and normals for a pretty substantial portion of their lifespan.

Shen also had a solid ~2 year run where he was 100% pick/ban at the competitive level.

Not sure why you expect energy users need any love, they're doing pretty well.

energy regen potions

Mana potions got removed from the game, outside of 400~500 gold elixirs that restore mana so slowly you might as well have just purchased an item granting bonuses to mana regeneration.

Also: energy regenerates extremely fast, which defeats the entire purpose of grabbing anything to regenerate it over a short period of time.

Energy items run into 1 major problem:

There's only 5 champions in the game that use energy, which means there's only 5 champions in the game that would even consider grabbing such an item.

Which gets worse when you consider things like Veigar who can technically use all the stats in item 3085 but sure as heck doesn't want to grab it. Pretty big difference between being able to put all the stats on an item to use, and that item actually being optimal within a given champion's preferred builds.

And with energy champions spanning Tank, Fighter, AD assassin, AP assassin, and mage archetypes: you're not looking at much common ground outside of energy to create any itemization stats with.

Beyond that: creating energy itemization sends a wierd message to alternate resource champions that rely on stuff like Heat and Fury to function. Why would energy champions get special itemization?

League of legends is becoming extremely fast paced with high mobi champs and explosive fighting, that a lot of energy champs find themselved drained after 1 burst during a teamfight leaving us running around AAing people until we get more energy...while mana champs can continually output damage

energy controls burst and "cd" (note the quotes), in other words, short-term sustain. mana controls long-term sustain

i think energy runes are still there
