This is not Fiora
Don't get me wrong you did a great job on this champion... but it's NOT Fiora.
From someone who has hundreds of games of Fiora played... the champ I played before no longer exists.

She plays like a duelist. She requires timing, planning and execution. I'm sorry there's no more Q-R kill everyone. Get good.

That's not the problem, it's having a stupid passive you have no control over that pisses me off.

that stupid passive is really quite powerful.

Never said it was not powerful. I said I don't like that it's like Quinn's passive where you cannot control it.

you cant control on which side it pops up, but in the reality of a game, i havent found it very difficult to actually reach it. 3 sides are always accessable by you either directly, or off to the sides with the q.
if it spawns in the back, you wait it out, since the next one will appear in the front. or you manage your q so you can dash through the hitbox of your opponent and trigger it in the back.
ive mained the old fiora at some point and im playing a lot of her now, and righ now shes ridiculously fun. the ability to basically duel everyone in the game if played well, and block everything with riposte is so statisfying.

Makes sense.
It feels like i'm playing a weird offshoot of Irelia... and I hate that playstyle.
Like I said, i'm not saying she's weak. I'm not saying she's a bad champ. I'm saying I have no desire to play her because her playstyle is just not fun for me anymore.

He's got a point though. For the Grand Duelist, you're not really in control of where that passive is. More like you aren't in charge of a fight.
It does fit Fiora's defensive style tho.
press r op
You can control it by walking further from your opponent to reapply it if it's in a bad spot. You don't need to walk halfway across the map, at worst you'll miss like 1 cs.
It's a passive you have to play around. its not always going to be in your favor and you can't pop it every time without taking a bad trade. it's true damage it has to be somewhat balanced.
Let me preface this by saying I used to be a Fiora main for years, and I still am today. The posts here make me incredibly depressed. If you consistently lost to a Fiora cheese move, then you should have no right to talk about the balancing of her.
Her kit was one note. She was just a high DPS assassin with mobility. She barely had the stats to be played top lane, and she had no CC. It was soooooooooo easy to build against her you guys. SO EASY! Armor always and CC always. If you were worried about her early game power like smart people would be, you play it safe and call MIAs understanding that if she picked up one or two kills she would be a pain for the rest of the game. That was the only thing that could make her relevant. If she fell behind, the majority of Fioras would instantly start feeding. Old Fioras never made a comeback. She was a lot like Yasuo in that she was feast or famine.
The real move that probably killed most of you was the QAAQAA combo, that was the one that not many people respected. Fiora's old ultimate was really just used to stick to an opponent or as a finishing move past a certain division. R did not work that great, and after a certain point it was just pretty. When teams stop clumping it did not work in team fights. You could maybe heal yourself up from a team with the proper items, but then they would lock you down and blast you off the map. You could even cancel her ult if you timed it right, and again you could always build for these things.
The new Fiora is an interesting mix of old and new. Building against her is not as straight forward as it used to be, but she's a lot easier to outplay when she's ahead due to timing and positioning being crucial to making her work. She's no longer the snowball queen of top lane, and her early game is a lot weaker than it was before. This was a necessary trade off for the utility added to her kit. In short duels she flourishes, but in 5v5s her ult isn't as amazing as people claim it is. Skirmishes is where it shines.
The squishy carry or support that 99 percent of Fiora's ult during team fights usually save Zhonyas or QSS expecting her to ult them now. Why do they ult them? Because her ult is difficult to make work otherwise, which is how it should be. Ulting anyone else can result in getting locked down, and them retreating until it disappears. She's also still easy to burst down.
The same thing happens in lane with her vitals now. People are starting to protect them I noticed, while before they would engage her with vitals facing her direction and wonder why they lost the trade. When the vital is in an easy spot for Fiora, I see more and more people falling back to reset it, and this makes me happy.
Sorry, Proelium, Fiora is new and shiny which instantly makes her "Amazing".
Happened with Sion as well.
Her passive is OP as fk and her ultimate is absolutely ridiculous, I honestly can't wait until that heal is nerfed into the ground. So dumb.

Again, didn't say she was weak even. I said it's not fiora. Having a teamwide heal as her ult has no place in the playstyle I enjoyed.
Yes, because old fiora was terribly designed and needed to go.

I actually agree that her old design needed changes. I'm not saying she was perfectly designed at all. Just that in changing her they didn't just change the parts that needed to go, they changed her entire playstyle. I'd just prefer that we have another champ with a similar playstyle.

But her fundamental playstyle was not balanced. They didn't want it to remain in the game.
I mean, they could've removed fiora completely and added in a brand new champion who had the kit they reworked her into, but they'd never make a champion with a similar playstyle to old fiora because it wasn't balanced.
If you want to press Q, the occasional R, and auto-attack everything to death - there are several champions already available to you:

The rest of us will be enjoying something unique.
Gotta agree with Relevantex, here. Youre being whiney. Everything about fiora was broken, so everything about her had to go. She was a remnant of an older style of league play, and that style is gone, so she had to go too. Im sorry they remade your main, but the reality is, shes no less powerful.
Id also like to point out that youre being ignorant about the whole Irelia comparison. Irelia and the new fiora are two completely different champions, and are nothing alike in even a remote way.

That's most likely it. I don't like the direction League is taking things as a whole and LIKED the old style... so that makes sense.

Here's the thing: the old playstyle was fun. Things that are overpowered tend to be fun.
What wasn't fun, was having to play against it.

I always had fun against it, but I play people who could counter it too so that makes sense also.

Yes, but hte old style of league spawned sions that could 1v5 teams with full armor penn, mundos that could bait full teams with his ult, fioras that could build ravenous and penta with her R, and ungankable heimerdingers that could heal the statue turrets (those were the days). Dont forget old rammus, who used to 1v5 AD teams with thornmail and his taunt.
This a was a time when the game was less competitive, and mistakes werent punished as hard. Before k/d mattered so much. Back then, 5 deaths meant nothing if you kept up with gold. Now, every death locks you into a hellish spiral.

My irelia comparison was mainly around the 2 different heals and truedamage (ffs stop putting that shit in the game rito)
The champ you previously played was a shitty version of
who either succeded in the lvl 2 cheese and completely stomped the game, or lost lane and was useless for the next 45 minutes.
This fiora is a much more fleshed out version of what they were originally trying to create, and requires more moment-to-moment decisions as would a real duelist, and has far more outplay potential now and isn't complete trash if she falls the slightest bit behind.
Yeah, fiora was a snowball champ. She was funny to play. Now they just transform her to make her to be as op as she could possibly be. Why ? Let's remember the old fiora as a snowball champ duelist and assassin Now she is :
I rarely play the old fiora, the new one I am excited about it. After trying several times I feel her Q, E is fine, her W and Ult somehow not that rewarding..
The moment ult activated she only gained MS, nothing else, and have to hit 4 times or 1 times and ally kill to trigger and get some reward.
Usually top laner ult got a quite big impact the moment it is activated or hit the enemy, Fiora's ult just... not giving her anything the moment it is activated.
Plus she need team full of CC, so I just feel the "duelist" title shoulda be changed she is more teamplayer now rather than duelist.
It's like they wanted her to be Irelia.. .but I hate Irelia's playstyle too so... yep sucks
Don't get me wrong you did a great job on this champion... but it's NOT Fiora.

This is my first post in league of legends forums. I don't participate in forums generally with video-games, nor read them very much. I assumed my voice was not as influential in the deluge of mass opinionated spam. Possibly, i was wrong.
Soraka Flashback
The first time i ever felt this way with a champion update was Soraka oddly enough. Coming from other video-games with healer based characters Soraka felt similar to the playstyle of those I enjoyed. She could heal both her own mana and allies, silence people, heal other players while giving them defense, while all the time just running around spamming Q (even hitting invisible units without even seeing them). etc etc. When they changed her I didn't really like it but I understood the changes and even though I stopped playing the champion she still FELT like soraka when playing her, only with a different playstyle. Fiora on the other hand.....
Fiora had quickly become one of my favorite champions. I had played many games with her, even snabbing a couple Penta-Kills here and there as this champion. Changes were imminent for many of the already explained reasons by riot. It was assumed, and I did not think i would mind them at first. Upon the release I was devastated to find Fiora completely removed from the game and in place of my favored champion an impostor in her place. I did not mind the "new champion" even though I do not play her anymore. But where has my Fiora gone? Every aspect that I loved and enjoyed from Fiora was removed, not augmented as I had previously expected.
The news that others have been voicing opinions similar to my own gives me a little hope in Fiora, and hopefully this little self-absorbed rant on Fiora can be viewed as some form of support to those who strive for a change to resurrect our beloved fallen champion.
I used to be and old fiora main but just before the rework i lost my internet and couldnt play for months now im back and surprised to see that the old fiora is gone. overall i cant decide if i love or hate the new fiora but the rework does make sense she plays much more like a fencer instead of an assassin my recommendation is for riot to remake old fiora into a new champion either as fiora's father or better yet another ninja/assassin like yasuo's rival. i miss the old kit (a lot) but i do think it was the right move
So true, she didnt kill everyone with her ulti? only if they all had low hp and most other ults does that.. Riot is ruining the game completely. like why can ashe not Crit on first shot anymore? what was wrong with that? i played alot and took a break from the game for around 6-7 months.. and when i came back alot of champs had their spells changed.. Veigar with his Q.. Riot has lost their spark
I really don't agree with most of the comments here saying old Fiora was op, because she wasn't. She was incredibly easy to shutdown, and part of made a good fiora player was how to dodge and avoid all the threats who could so easily destroy you. Her kit coupled with her weaknesses and her strengths made her a champion which I hated at first when she would rape me in lane, loved to destroy her after trying her a couple of games, and finally fell in love with her kit, because playing her was FUN. OH SO FUN. Dodging shit with your ult, knowing when to use your w to avoid a lich bane or a dangerous crit, knowing when to stop aatacking after using E just to get that precise amount of speed to be able to run with that amount of health...
Everything about her was incredibly fun, and I would not consider her overpowered in anyway, maybe even underpowered. She was an assassin and played like an assassin. Snowballing is not a sin, in this game its all about snowballing, specially now in season 6 which is pretty ridiculous the way how games are decided in the 1st bloods and turrets 1st bloods. If your problem was ''hurr durr she snowballed like hell'' you need to rework every single champion in the game, specially in the family of yasuos irelias and rivens there are out there.
After they reworked her, I was SO FCKIN SAD, because a champ that was so FUN to play had turned into this mini - game crap which I still find completely boring and unoriginal. It's incredibly op, much more than the old, CC Squishy fiora was, and personally not fun at all comparing to everything else the old Fiora had.
Giving her the ability to do insane amounts of damage and an ability that makes her INVULNERABLE (lol) is not a ''duelist'' playstyle. It's playing a stupid minigame with a pathetic and op crutch.
And just a final note, and the most serious thing imo: THEY RUINED THE SPLASH ART.
RIP Fiora, you will be missed, ty for all the good times.
