Is Blitzcrank a bit unfair?

(keep in mind I'm bronze 4) If you ever seen Blitzcrank support you will realize the annoyance of a match you'll go through if you're bot.

If you get grabbed and knocked up that's 1.5 seconds where you can't do anything, and are taking free damage from their adc and is a guarrenteed free kill in early game and late game since it takes you away from your allies in to the enemy.

The best counterplay is to avoid getting grabbed in the first place (positioning dodging). The whole counterplay is to avoid the side blitzcrank is to be at opposing sides of the minion, use minions as a shield and play it safe. This makes for really boring gameplay as you avoid and type of conflict with the risk of getting grabbed. Even then if they have a blitzcrank they have complete control of bot, since blitzcrank poses as such a big risk to be around, he can camp the bushes, and if you didn't ward them before hand, well good luck trying to as he will grab you the moment you try to ward it.

Even if you do have it warded there is nothing you can do about since if you try to AA he will grab you and knock you up at a seconds notice. Hell because of the threat you may try to farm under tower but you're still not safe because he can try to grab you while under turret.

But hey if you counter pick you're fine.

I just find it really annoying and stupid that if you get grabbed once by a blitzcrank early or late game you are dead and that you might as well go make yourself a snack.

please just tell me where I am wrong and how to actually counter play this fuck

Most thing most Bronze players don't even do is punish Blitz for a missed hook. A Blitz would literally miss a hook right in front of you and the opposing lane would still be magically scared of him walking up for some reason.

Anyways his gameplay is pretty binary though, you can miss 50 hooks and suddenly land one good one and win the game. But he definitely has a lot of room for counter play.

I agree with you for the most part. I largely find Blitz easy to play against (in my elo). BUT I hate hate hate that a champion can fail, over and over and over and over, and win lane with one q. There are few other champions like that.

blitzcrank seems really good in the meta right now, Tankiness, outstanding cc and being good at any stage of the game.

I do feel blitz has way too much power tied up in his Q.

I don't think theres any other basic ability in the game where landing it is almost guaranteed to either burn summoners or net a kill, and most ultimates don't even have that sort of power.

That said, since basically all his power is in his Q, it leaves him almost useless when it's on cooldown, so abuse him/his allies whenever he misses a hook. (Actually good blitz tend to hold on to their Q forever unless it's almost a sure hook/flash blow for related reasons, however odds are most bronze blitz will be firing them off on cooldown.)

Thresh has arguably better hook (Higher range, wider specially at the edge, yes windup is slower but thats compensated by the fact that you can angle it)

He also has a lantern which is extremly powerful flay which has immense potentional, range + free stats from passive

Blitzcrank only has better ultimate in comparison and most ll argue that his Q is better while I would disagree..
