If Chilling Smite was the only problem with Smite...
Then why affect every other Smite? It seemed overkill TBH. The whole thing looked okay on paper, but realistically impacts the whole game in a lot of ways such as failure in steals and secures of important objectives.
If Chilling Smite was truly the only problem about Smite, why not have:
Smite's normal range still nerfed.

Give slight range.

Give enough range to be comparable or equivalent to the original Smite.
Give enough range to be comparable or equivalent to the original Smite.
Give enough range to be comparable or equivalent to the original Smite.
This would not only justify the Smite range nerf, but also give incentive to get every other smite. It also justifies the jungle item cost increase, so that you would have to pay more for higher range.
