Don't ban champions that have been picked by your team in ranked because you think they'll feed!

My story: I get into champ select, I was first pick top. I type in the chat "don't ban Vladimir Yasuo pls" (90% of the time I only play these 2 in ranked). Unfortunately, Vladimir was banned from the enemy team. So that leaves me with Yasuo . We get to the second ban of my team and my teammate bans him. After asking him why he did that, he responded "You will feed with him" (similar, but not the exact words). We start picking and I panic-picked JarvanIV , since he is the next champion I'm most familiar with. I informed my team that I was not good with him and that top will most likely be lost. I get no response. We lost of course and I got flamed by my team both during the game and in the post game chat, saying "cancer top lost the game" and 'you deserve a permaban', when clearly I was not the only reason, since by my 3rd-4th death the game was already lost.

My point:

How can you be so sure I'll feed with my main when you haven't even seen me playing? How do you expect a (semi) one trick pony to perform when you ban his first main? You cripple me, yet you expect me to play like nothing happened. Some people don't play a lot of champs in ranked, some of them might even play one or two, like me. Maybe you should have that in mind next time you start your next ranked game.

If somebody wants to pick Riven/Yasuo/Vayne in my team, I prefer to check their win rate on said champion. If it is not above 50% Ill just ban it.

Sorry, but sometimes you gotta just accept you need more practice with a champ before going into ranked, or... THE CHAMP ISNT FOR YOU.

I have 61% win rate with Yasuo. But let us go ahead and assume that it's bellow 50%. How do you expect someone to perform when you ban his strongest pick? My logic dictates that he's going to perform far worse when he picks a champion he is barely as familiar as with his main, given that he doesn't play a lot of champs, like in my case.

You are right and I agree, but I'm talking about the senario of already being in champ select.

no Vayne is banned everytime someone is going to pick it. 100 games i've had a vayne on my team 50 of them in diamond 87 of them were lost because she fed or generally did nothing. #BanOutVayneMains

Consider this: I am a Yasuo/Vlad main. I rarely play anyone else in ranked. I climbed all the way to plat III by mostly playing these 2. Do you think that just because I play Yasuo (or Vayne, or Lee etc) I'll magically perform better with champs I'm barely as good if you ban the former? Or is ~800k mastery points/60% win rate with Yasuo not enough to be deemed "worthy" to play him in ranked?

i don't mind Yasuo he is either good and stomps or he gonna be the team sponge and i will ignore him and get fed on other lanes and snowball harder. cause people when they see a yasuo feed they gonna camp him regardless and get no gold while losing objectives so its worth we get a dragon they get 50gold. Meanwhile vayne no hell no never always ban it when someone wants it even if he has 1000 games with 90% win ratio i WILL ban it. only person i'd ever let play Vayne would be doublelift cause fanboy him alot lmfao

This is exactly what my post tries to contradict.

They might not know that you are a one/two trick pony so you should tell them To me, "dont ban [x champion] pls" has a negative connotation

If they still ban your champion regardless, then dodge -3/-10LP is better than -20LP

  1. Don't really have a choice when I'm on my promos.
  2. I do dodge but it sucks when I get to the point of closing the client and not playing at all because I get a 30 minute waiting period.

Ask yourself this then

Would you rather play a game with trolls and get tilted af, or not play that game but get a 30 minute wait

Project omen1 votes

I'd choose to get the 30 minute wait, but that would discourage me from playing at all.

I will ban Yas and Vlad because they **ALWAYS **feed.

Calabok1 votes

banning them was the most sensible. Feel free to find a champ that is not Freelo

Project omen1 votes

Yeah, sure. Because current Yasuo is so easy to climb with in plat elo.

i only do this if i get the same person on my team in the next game i play. if they fed bad bet i will ban whatever it was they were playing. especialy if they feed and say "oh the lag" or "its all good im a late game champion". point is team wont hit late game with early feeding or the hole will be too to dig yourself out of. i have no issue trying to put my team in a better position to win. i also do this if i get some jackass that says support Ezreal or some stupid pick like that

Project omen1 votes

That's understandable but I'm talking about a senario where a person banned my main because he thought I would feed with him, without even knowing how I perform with him at all.
