What's the point of building tank if damage is so high that it just shreds your MR and Arm?

Damage is just getting out of control, meanwhile, it just seems like tank masteries/items are kinda useless. I'm not whining, I'm just wondering as to why it feels like MR and Armor don't matter anymore. Regardless if my statement is true or false, damage is getting way out of control. I'd like to see actually tankiness WITHOUT that certain tank being able to do damage as well. I know we can't have the best of both worlds, but I'd be fine if I could survive an onslaught doing minimal damage while protecting my team. Just my thoughts, feel free to discuss, prefer not to be bashed/flamed but I know I'm on the LoL forums so it's inevitable.

Nah, I think it's a legitimate complaint. I think tank items need to be able "counter-crit" some way other than just "build a ton of health".

But if Tanks are tanky then Kalista won't be able to kill them in 6 autos.

Tanks are being nerfed patch after patch after patch, you literally just melt in team fights now Doesn't matter how tanky you are, more and more basically everyone is becoming geared to kill tanks

Be it thru true damage or % health damage

Riot is more and more turning their game to everyone should die roughly as fast as everyone else, so they don't want people who have chosen to be squishy to die instantly. So they constantly nerf high damage or burst and convert it into % health damage or true damage instead.

Also, don't bother posting example of existing high burst champion. Let's be honest, Riot just hasn't gotten to them... yet
