Is LOL attracting new players or is everyone starting to get over it?

I feel like...as more options come out, the player base for league will shrink. I actual hope it does. I despise Riot as an organization on account of how asinine and wrong (always proven after they make those dumbshit changes) their decisions almost always are.

Get ready for a balance NIGHTMARE with the new Mastery and runes system. Season 8 will be nothing but unfucking the shit storm they will unleash.

Riot needs outside perspective. They are inbred as an organization and will eventually collapse under their own ego and lack of perspective.

There are middle school students that hear about it, try it, think it's the most awesome thing since fidget spinners, then talk their friends into playing too. After that initial "wow, this is awesome!" point though I think the recommendations fall off. I wouldn't recommend friends get into League, even if I'd be happy to play it with them.

As for preseason... Well, we've moaned about every preseason so far, this one is no different in that regard. Yes, there are big balance changes that will take a long time to sort out, but I do think the game will be better for making the change.

Paragon went though a recent change with it's Card system that took it from being a total turn off as a new player to something I felt I instantly understood. Understanding and seeing the potential made it seem more fun to me. I think the Rune update will be similar.

Can't attract new players because the smurf problem is unsolvable. Riot's ONLY hope of attracting new players is to bite the bullet, go full DotA, and remove levelling all together and make the entire roster available.

There is only a "smurf problem" because the second you make a new account and play a few games you are grouped in with smurfs or new players. And, obviously, these new players usually don't post on the boards.

Just found out my niece downloaded this game. Praying she gets tilted from leveling and gives up.

There are way worse companies when it comes to communication and outside perspective; Riot certainly isn't the worst of the bunch.

As for preseason, almost every change is geared towards helping new players get into the game. Increased champ shards amd free runes go a long way to helping the newer audience. Of course there will be balance issues, but that comes with every preseason and are usually solvable by the end of it. I for one am excited for the new runes; I don't think any player wants the game to be stuck with the same system for the rest of its life. Give it a chance.

Thats a great question and I'm surprised its been downvoted. I was a dedicated Diablo 2 pvp player. Couldn't wait for D3 - once it was announced as an arcade style shooter, I quit blizzard permanently. League is close to that pvp style that I loved, but its just more current. The hardest part about being successful is staying successful. The balance issues and tone deaf fuckwit responses are killing this game.
