Who was Hail if Blades created For?
I mean like they had to have an intended target when they made that awkward keystone.
I mean like they had to have an intended target when they made that awkward keystone.
I think Riot thought they were making it for champions like Yi and xin, but there's only one champion who has a positive winrate with it
Every other champion has more valuable runes. Lethal tempo gives more attacks to champions who can easily exceed the cap
phase rush gives sticking power to champions with limited CC
press the attack gives more total damage to champions with 3-hit effects
Seems kinda a waste of it's only abuse cases who can utilize it
Mostly Kog'Maw Kinda backfired tho cause it was an indirect buff to jhin lol
Champs like kindred vayne and jhin. Like they have this mechanics of 3 autos and one fast blow. So yeah
So champs with a 3 part AA empower. I thought so, cause I have tried it on Morde and it doesn't really help
Why would you go Hail of Blades on Morde? His Q is the least reliable part of his kit.
The best morde is aery morde with secondary resolve taking revitalize at the bottom. Start E, go W, then Q, and then max W first. You have no mana so you have the best harass ever. At every opportunity, harass the enemy with E, and farm with autos. At level 4 if they take a few Qs you can kill em with flash Q ignite.
Champs with fury like Rengar also work with hail of blades as they auto more and gain their resource faster. It also works with Renekton.
I experiment with builds. Don't tell me how to build him. I know how to build him. I just gettired of the same build every game
Hail of blades works pretty well on basic-attack divers, and it also stacks rageblade very effectively. If you like lethal tempo, hail of blades is the counterpart for it in the red tree.
Good for bard too. Red tree better for him in general than taking percision
Seems like it's kinda shit rune that's just imbalanced the game
It was meant for champions who have a 3 hit effect to proc quickly in a fight.
Champions like

I think the main targets were divers(especially with 3 hit effects) like Xin or Jax, and maybe for adc that want more upfront damage. I can see the idea behind it, but it fails for multiple reasons:
The main reason it fails hard on it's intendet targets is that it doesn't account for AA-resets. Nearly ever champ that profits from some quick upfront AAs has an AA-reset(and quite some like getting titanic hydra aswell), and hail of blades basically looses one of it's 3 attacks through aa-resets. In a normal scenario, you already only get benefit from the AS for two hits, as the first hit hardly is impacted by AS(asides from a faster animation). On Xin for example, you usually go E-AA-Q, which means you only have an effective AS gain on the second Q... if they want champs like xin to use it, AA-resets should not count as an attack for hail off blades.
Another issue for melees is that they often can't stick as effecively for the 3 hits, which especially is noticable on juggernauts that else might like it(guess as a morde you know what i mean). A small melee only ms boost duering it might be helpfull.
And last, the big issue for all users, it's horrible recharge mechanic. The fact that minion damage also delays it's cd makes it supper ankward in lane, and even in later fights you'd need to get out of combat quite long, and it has a horrible antisynergie with any form of dots(again, hello morde). They need to completly rework how it's CD works, cause the current itteration has many issues and just feels like shit no matter what.
But in the end, i'm not sure if it's a good idea to fix it for those users. I don't think a xin that gets of his knockup at the speed of light would be very healthy for the game for example..
Don't theory craft. Try it on anyone. That's how people find these busted ass builds.

Before Akali's rework I tried it on her. If you buffered a basic attack after Q > R-ing you'd guarantee the bonus damage proc on Q, the heal on the first Passive basic attack. W then attack move would grant you the next attack in quick succession. I know it's all attack resetting the attack speed does make a difference in how fast you can execute it.
rek'sai and jhin, i guess
I always thought it would be cool on Diana, but I've never played her. My Diana main friend says it's about the same as electrocute.
Its basically lethal tempo, but for champions who want burst damage immediately in fights
