I totally get the "ladder shifted down" but this is frickin extreme. I've been gold every season since season 2 or 3 (with the exception of last season where I actually did get gold but slid back into silver) and there were several plat players that I played with and against during my promos. Frankly it's pretty discouraging and makes me want to spend a lot more time playing Overwatch and a lot less time on LoL. Just my 2 cents.

You hear the challenger players complaining? They get p1 AT BEST. Now that's a huge drop.
Bronze and silver is easy to climb through. If you have been gold every season it should take you like 100 games max to hit gold. It should take way less as you get 26 per win.

So what, if you don't have free time you're supposed to rank up to whatever tier once in your LOL life and then never have to work up to that rank ever again? That's not how competitions work. Gold medal Olympians don't start the Olympics every 4 years with gold or silver medals, they have to keep earning them every time. Earn your keep or fall from grace.

You should just say that that's not how the Olympics works. Plenty of sports stack the odds in favor of the defending champion and/or those favored to win. Like how most playoff systems pit the top seed against the bottom seed. Or when top seed does not have to play the first round at all...

No, this game is going to be around for a while. It's popularity is really a product of American laziness/Mediocrity. DOTA 2 is a far far superior game, but the learning curve is way more steep so no one here wants to play. I do like the direction RITO is taking adding more active items like DOTA has.

The problem is that in my experience every other game in bronze there's a leaver or some kid plays Singed support and intent feeds. If it's true that players of similar skill as me were all placed into bronze maybe it won't be that much of a problem though.

You can get out if you're good. I have never played with anyone "stuck in bronze" who was playing above a low silver level, at best.
