Reminder: Karma Update is Still Supposedly Going to Happen Even After the Extreme Criticism

Frosted Tips··13 votes·7,458 views

Just wanted to make sure every player that still cares about Karma and was very worried about the update ruining her from any role besides support that it seems that Riot is not listening and that the update is still planned. They are not communicating well with us and the will probably try to hide the update by releasing it along side another big update and close to one, maybe Kayle and Morgana, so be prepared to let them know that if the update is not satisfactory to let them know, or lose a beloved character.

Sorry link didn't work.

I mean. You can't make everyone happy, and Karma isn't healthy as a support or a mid.

She's stuck in some weird hybrid identity of each, but she's not only unhealthy in both, she's not good in either, and she's obnoxious as fuck for the entire enemy team.

Frosted Tips2 votes

I think it is totally possible to make her healthy in both roles. One may dominate of the other, but they look to completely force her support. The biggest problem I see is that they cater to Top Karma which I think has never been healthy or fun to play against.

Well looks like i will be dropping karma then.

So disappointing that they put so much effort into other reworks and we karma players get that... im going to say though that we do not make it easy, most do want karma to be focused as a support, some want her as a midlaner amd an odd few want her as a toplaner.

Riot seriously give her W an allied interaction like knights vow and rework her Q to something more healthy

Ps give us the fans back

I like that idea or something similar

Ps give us the fans back

YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS have been complaining about this since they removed back in 2013. Like why remove them I'm the first place.

Tsk. I've expressed my disapproval to Neuro multiple times on Twitter now since the changes were discussed awhile back, and then again just now. Only to find Neuro has blocked me.

Not cool Neuro!

Just listen to us for a change please.

Leave her alone. I don't like what she did and I don't approve of how she handled the Karma rework, but at the same time it's not her fault. This rework and how it will be perceived is the result of a Lead Gameplay Designer that doesn't care about her. Meddler doesn't care and every time he is presented with the opportunity to do something with Karma, he shoots it down for a support oriented rework. If he would just communicate about her that would solve all of the problem.s It's not.

MiracleMorg942 votes

Well she also has a hand in it and since I've also been expressing my disapproval to Meddler too, who hasn't been listening either. He didn't block me though.

Not cool at all.

could still see more changes to it, im sure riot noticed the criticism

I believe they noticed, but so far 3 months later there has been no indication that they are working on any of the issues the players pointed out. All that we are told is that the update is stalled until the art is finished.

Ragnaveil2 votes

They can test things internally and not have to share them. They've done that before then shipped them onto the PBE once art and kit were finalized. I think they are using the art thing so they can use the extra time to change a thing or two. People pointed out the CDR mechanic possibly being too strong, so I would assume they did something about it.

Sorry but nothing they are offering in the Karma rework really changes her profile/framework. It adds to the options you have to play. That's all.

Cry more. Meanwhile.... I'll pull a 65% with her next season.

Not surprised.

Sejuani mains pointed out all the faults in that shitty rework before it went live and it was still rammed through with minimal changes. I'm not as active with other champs but I'd be exceptionally surprised if this wasn't the case. Riot's reworks as of late have been abysmal and their complete failure to take feedback from them is even worse.

Karma mains are really vocal about their champion. i mean they could say they want a rework but I doubt this would make them happy. Half of them want a revert to a kit from 5 years ago. I don't really don't think Riot should bother... Small playerbase that'll backlash.

Frosted Tips2 votes

Well if Riot shouldn't bother with small playerbase champions then why not just remove the champions that all have low playerbase?/s

That is terrible reasoning. If that is how Riot decided to work on the game than we would see many champions cease to be playable.

I'm not saying they shouldn't bother, I'm saying if they want to mess around with Karma they should keep her fanbase happy. She's not very played and her fans are pretty hardcore. There's no real reason to do anything but pander to her fans, since attacting new players to her isn't needed or likely.

so... why would they bother making changes then? at that point I would literally just delete the champion. Pander to who? the people who just want the same thing again? the people who cry about their champions being weak even though said champion can have an absurd winrate? they don't need to pander to anyone. They can keep some of the feel of the champion but if the champion in question is literally a nightmare to ever be in a balanced position and the "hardcore" playerbase of the champion refuses to budge then guess what? screw the "hardcore" playerbase

Sukishoo1 votes

Kalista Azir Ryze are some theyve clearly said they put too much time and resources into, and thus pretty much leaving them as is. So there are champions they've given up on for the foreseeable future.

Hügö2 votes

What do you expect? The only time they take critic and wave some tweak off is when the playerbase is one that spends alot of money or is pretty big. For example Yasuo or Lee nerfs.

Winterkill1 votes

It is what it is and Riot Game Developers are not going to change her. The Developers are not going to change this champion in a way that we would appreciate. It's pretty evident where they want Karma to be and what they are doing on the champion to keep her there. The rework didn't really solve the problems that most Karma players even have with the current kit. Riot Game Developers just really don't care and it shows.

At this moment, it's time to move on from the game, play another champion, or hold Riot Game Developers accountable for some of the shotty work they gave us with the VGU. If these Developers want to force us to play with this kit, with this identity, and looking at this half arsed VU . . . . have the decency to at least complete the work in a way that it is fully conceptualized. Maybe Karma players would appreciate her more if they saw the full picture and idea of what they wanted to do with this champion. I really don't see it.

id love to see her as a mid laner, her skills in mid rn are lacking...but shes still somewhat fun to play

I mean, has Riot listened to players much at all in a long time? There's nothing much to expect from them anymore.
