New Talon

Maybe Im not playing him right, but his damage feels really low. I feel like other champions have way more burst, he doesnt feel like an "assassin" anymore. Just a maniac that jumps over crap. Brand AurelionSol Annie Anivia Cassiopeia Graves Quinn Syndra Veigar Viktor will burst you faster.

Mages are different from assassins in that they don't have kill times. Assassins are made to have .5-1.5 second kills times because they have ways to get both in and out, talon especially. Burst mages however are very telegraphed and if they burn flash to go in they have no escapes. Talon's damage/burst is especially low even among assassins since he has much shorter cds, meaning that he can assassinate more frequently, as well as has the most mobility of any champion in the game. As such he is built to kill anyone foolish enough to hang around at low HP (Kind of like evelynn) but isn't designed to 100-0 people because otherwise there would be no counterplay to him.

He is really an assassin meant to 75-0 people, by having the ability to get to and take down, any low hp targets while remaining safe himself.

If you haven't already try taking him jg. He plays more like a kill based jgler now than a roaming mid laner. Going after people who overextend/overstay rather than fighting in lane.

Yes! As a long time talon player I find the new rework puts him in the jungle sooooo well. If it wasn't for his lv2 powerspike in midlane with ignite, jg-talon might be even better. Especially because warrior is a cheap item that also gives 10% cd. Pair his new kit with red smite and you can 1v1 anyone.

Then again maybe im just a baboon. I'm still waiting for the meta to settle down and see where Talon stands

I agree that he can be played effectively in the jungle, but I don't think he is an effective jungler. If you don't snowball he doesn't bring enough to the table that other junglers would in a similar situation (no insane steal potential, no cc, no tankiness), not to mention what he would bring (damage and assassination), are both things that you would get from mid Talon anyway.

Lack of cc and tankiness is definitely a problem. And I do kind of feel mediocre if I don't get those couple kills early.

Steal potential though I feel like he does have. Maybe not as good as lee. But definitely there, especially with those new blast cones. If, lets say, dragon is warded he can blast himself over, Q-Crit+Smite for the steal and wall hop to the other side. I think he can wall hop both sides regardless of the blast plant anyway.

He's mainly played as a kill-jungler rather than utility like elise and lee. But if you can pull it off it'll open up mid-lane to have a mage and just overall helps the comp of your team. IMO~

I have to agree though that he might not be the most optimal in the jungle. I really hope they push him into the jungle direction like Rengar and Kha Zix, while still being able to mid-lane. I love flexible champions lol

He has the same dmg like he had before, maybe even higher. You just need to proc his passive.

He's more tricky to play now, I'd say you should practice him a bit more before drawing conclusions. His damage is better early now, lategame though it feels nerfed but we'll just have to see how it plays out.

I feel what's wrong with the new Talon is that he has to leap into his opponents face, use his abilities and then auto attack to trigger his bleed effect which can be a hassle especially if the person has flash or mobility to dodge that last hit. Furthermore you'll probably get CC'd to death for trying.

Talon's inlane kill pressure took a massive hit and his team fighting arguably went down.
