1- It's called physical damage not AD damage. 2- Touch of Death is an unique passive which means it can't be stacked. 3- and don't counter magic resist. They get countered by magic resist. 4- Full AP teams don't stand a chance when the enemy team builds magic resist because their only anti-magic resist item is unlike ADs who have ridiculous amount of armor penetration and true damage. 5- Full AD teams are 10 times more common than full AP teams because enemy armor is rarely a problem unlike magic resist.

So yes, we need pyhsical(true) damage.

is not an anti-MR item because it only reduces flat MR and requires auto attacking. That's why it's almost never built by AP champions.

Don't why you list Morello when its literally the same item as oblivion orb, you can't even stack the pen from those two items.

Generally talking, Penetration is such a concept IMO. You are basically countering a counter (Penetration counters resistances that counters AP/AD). Penetration should be only effective when the enemy is building a lot of resistances, not against everything that has resistances.

Even if you build this, if you aren't a Battle Mage, you'll never make it through a tank.
