Well, I Guess This is Another One of *Those* Threads

It is generally accepted that Ashe's passive is one of the worst in the entire game. I know that there are roughly 4 or more threads about how to fix it that are posted here weekly, gaining large or no support at all. I wanted to alter her passive in a way that emphasized her style as a kiting centric ADC who relies on not being under fire to deal her damage. Ashe is not in a terrible spot (she has a very consistent win rate that rarely changes), so these changes, while undeniably a buff, are not supposed to be massive or game changing, just enough to make her passive work in a more logical manner. In case anyone else has posted this idea or a similar one already, please understand it is hard to keep track because of how many there are.

Her current passive: If Ashe has not attacked in the last 3 seconds, she gains 4/5/6/7/8 stacks of focus per second. At 100 stacks, Ashe's next basic attack will critically strike, and her focus stacks will reset to her current critical chance.

My proposition: If Ashe has not been attacked in the last 3 seconds, she gains stacks of focus. Gaining focus increases her critical chance until she critically strikes, at which point her stacks revert to to her current critical strike value. Taking damage causes her stacks to revert to her current critical chance. Ashe gains 2/3/4/5/6/7 stacks of focus each second, with one stack granting 1% critical chance, max 100% critical chance. Her focus generation increases with levels in Hawk Shot (E).

The Key Differences Between Live and My New Suggestion:

  • Live requires you to not auto attack, which is counter intuitive and unproductive for an ADC.
  • Live gives you 0 benefit until fully stacked.
  • Live has NO form of counter play, she gets stacks whether you attack her or not, which makes it very low interaction for the enemy laner.

VS:

  • New rewards proper kiting, where you are not being attacked and therefore generate stacks.
  • New offers counter play via poking to cancel her stacks.
  • New gives reward while in combat, which is logical for an ADC.
  • New gives reward in more frequent intervals when utilized appropriately (It now increases your crit chance, instead of building up to 1 guaranteed crit).
  • New, to compensate for the improved frequency of crits with the new system, links stack generation increase to Hawk Shot to keep Ashe from becoming excessively oppressive in lane.
  • New is more intuitive to new players (stacks=crit chance, not getting hit=focus, etc.).

I feel this is the simplest and best way to make Ashe's passive A: more intuitive, B: stronger outside of poke fights, and C: more rewarding to skillful play (good kiting means better stack generation means better damage).

What are your thoughts? Does this seem like it would help make her role as a kiting ADC better? Does it help remove the weakness of her live passive? I it too strong?
