Junglers are Too Important to Autofill

At this point in the game, if you autofill a jungler, you're more than likely going to lose. There's so much game knowledge required to do it properly, and just shoving someone into that role because "shorter queues" isn't healthy. When I get autofilled there, I'm lucky as fuck if my lanes can survive without me, because I have no idea what I'm doing.

it's done on purpose, because someone on the autofilled team needs to lose in order to maintain his 50% winrate

Nah, the jungle is just too different from lanes.

When autofilled support you can just pick Blic and land the hooks, so you mainly have to worry about mechanics. When autofilled jungle you have no idea what you're doing, as there is very little skill you can bring from your main role, which makes the skill disparity enormous.

The problem itself was escalated by shifting jungle into a gankbot playstyle. Mid/Late game focused jungle relied more on knowing how to play your champion than general jungling skill.

Agreed, jungle is too important of a role to be auto filled. We can't do much about it though...

What's just as bad is when jungler gets autofilled to a lane and they are terrible at managing creep waves, damage trades and last hitting. It's a role that requires an entirely different skill set. If the above poster telling us that riot does it to enforce the 50% win rate, then shame on riot because that is despicable. The best solution is to remove autofill entirely or better yet remove the support role, which is the only legitimate reason for autofill.

Jungle is honestly pretty braindead rn with all the tanks and catchup xp. It probably wont be that bad unless you have a support main autofilled. Even then i get what you are saying but having an autofilled mid or adc is probably worse. Top can just pick a tank, support is easy as hell, and jungle really isnt that bad.

IDK about all this but I think autofill is a pretty bad system - I think people should be able to play their 2 chosen roles, with some kind of OTHER encouragement to take unpopular roles like maybe extra chance at an honor chest or extra IP/Blue Essence or something? It's creating toxicity when a player gets autofilled to a role they don't play and either become toxic themselves or play poorly and get flamed by their team. Imagine making faker play jungle in a tournament because one of his teammates was out sick, instead of replacing his jungler with the 2nd string? He might still do well, but there's no way he will play to the level he plays in mid lane, simply because thousands of hours of practice are lacking there. That's what autofill is, except for players who play solo queue.

Here's a helpful list of other roles too important to autofill:

Top, mid, support, your grandma's cat, ADC

autofill is cancer. I only play support so no autofill for me, but I really feel for anyone on my team that gets autofilled.

LOL! I thought this was going to be a rant about how you were getting autofilled into another role when you wanted jungle.

Now the jungler? Jeez I swear I saw like 20 posts about botlane this last week.
