As a Pantheon main, I can give you some tips if you want.

By the way, that's really nice of Pantheon to push the wave to your tower instead of freezing the lane.

If possible, counter-pick him. Teemo Max Q. Take ignite. Malphite Max Q. Play safe early Riven Shield his spears.

The most important thing is not to feed. He falls hard so let him fall.

well, just that nunu always is somewhat usefull:

His ult aoe slow and as slow is always a powerfull teamifghting tool
his W is basically an extra item for the carry
his Q allows to contest dragon/baron even when your jungler is down

A pant that gets iceballed out of lane while nunue consumes through his poke is barely more than a minion that sometimes falls from the sky...

Riven does not counter Pantheon. It depends on the jungler but generally Pantheon counters Riven.

I played as Pantheon vs Riven and she shielded almost all of my Qs. You're not going to win a fight versus Riven unless you can poke her down first which I was unable to do.

Good luck shielding everything with your 10 sec CD vs his 4 seconds CD (also his spears outdamage the shield). Pantheon isn't as terrible for Riven as he is for some other champions but he is still stronger in lane and Riven certainly does not counter him.

Also, why the hell does someone who plays neither Riven nor Pantheon get upvoted while a Riven OTP gets downvoted when it comes to matchup specific questions?! Great that everyone here has such a strong opinion about a matchup they clearly never played.

Thats when you max E first on Riven. You don't always have to max a damage skill first, a ton of riven's damage is coming from her passive and autos, not her Q, people just like to max Q because it lets you apply more pressure via the CD reduction granting more Qs and therefor more passive procs, but vs someone who has more laning pressure than you who you just need to survive, you can spec E and reduce a ton of incoming damage.

You don't have to outlast Pantheon. Just his mana bar. The moment that mana bar empties he is little more than a melee minion.

Teemo Q - 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+80% AP) Teemo is probably starting Doran's ring and has +15 AP runes. So it's more like 110 / 155 / 200 / 245 / 290.

Pantheon Q - 65 / 105 / 145 / 185 / 225 (+140% bonus AD)

So like I said. Teemo Q > Pantheon Q. And I have played the matchup several times. Trust me, it's stronger.

Pantheon Q will be Pantheon Q - 65 / 105 / 145 / 185 / 225 (+140% bonus AD) + 42 damage, because you neglected to mention AD runes and/or long sword start (Cpot provides more sustain but same damage, as 15 over 3 => 10 * 1.4)

So pantheon Q deals 20-30 more damage at basically every rank, and later ranks will also benefit drastically from AD he buys.

Teemo Q also has an 8 second cooldown and 70-90 mana, and Pantheon Q has a four second cooldown, literally HALF of Teemo's with 45 mana cost, while also having on average 100+ more base health, on top of base magic resistance that also scales with level, while Teemo has 30 armor or less.

So yeah, Pantheon's is stronger.

Oh yeah panth into teemo is cake. Your passive blocks so much of his harrass. Riven's easy too, her biggest weakness is lockdown, u know like W. Malphite's decent, but I think the best is maokai, his sustain is so good, it's really hard to poke him out.

Haahaa, you guys are playing teemo wrong. Start dorans shield and E. and poke the shit out of panth with your autos. Every time he gets into range, send an auto flying. This will make him fear you. The dorans passive helps you out sustain his Q if he keeps sending it your way.

Take attack speed runes. This will punish him greatly if he gets near. Also by focusing on harassing him, you will still freeze the wave.

Get rylais as an early item if need be. If he all ins you (he is probably tired of your poke), then kite the crap out of him. Abuse the damage that your minions do, and maybe have a jungler ready to gank him.

Lastly, mushrooms don't just have to be wards. You can place them in strategic locations (such as next to the lane, or behind your minion wave). Slowing down pantheon so you can wail on him.

Really don't get why so much people are bitching about Pantheon out of no where and this goes for D5 too on the board getting their butt kicked by pantheon, I never have a problem with him since all you need to do is just buy doran shield and let him Q you once then back off and let your hp regen by doran shield. He is extremely mana hungry and one of if not easiest top to gank. Tell your top to bait him in by letting him stun them so he uses his only escape ability also people who are whining about Pantheon being busted never had to deal with season 2 Pantheon where he had crits on enemy if they have 20% hp.

Unfun yes but not broken or OP as people on the board make him out to be. If you can't play smart vsing a Pantheon when your D3 then seriously you need to work on your skills because Pantheon has a generic kit, Pantheon is only good from gold and under and there is a lot of new champion that have better kit to counter him. He can only poke and judging by the poster build he messed up the second he got item 2033 as a starting item since enemy Pantheon has ignite and if a top takes ignite you know he is going to try to force fights if you take TP. The board just bitches about win rate when they never take other stuff in to consideration like play rate or the fact that the win rate are practically from Bronze/Silver/Gold, heck I bet 75% of the people doesn't even care to freeze the lane in the near front of your turrent so your minion stalls it making it near impossible for him to dive you and giving your jungler a better chance to gank for you.

For people who want a tip then all you need to do to counter Pantheon is either get a tank which actually out last him when it get to the 10 min mark unless you fed him or a champion that has ability that aren't considered basic attack.

Take nasus, max E go double dorans, push waves into his tower he cant waveclear he will have to decide to go on you or to farm, if he goes on you he loses bigly on waves and if he tries to farm he cant he will still lose half of the wave to the tower since his waveclear is shit. If somehow he manages to kill you he will prob be oom and less than half HP you just tp back and push wave back into tower you will take his tower so quick and he will have -40 cs on you. Kills wont matter he will be useless you will outscale gg wp.

Kayle is made out of tissue paper and WILL get chunked by the spears (especially after dirk) and is even MORE gank food than Pantheon is. If Kayle has to spam W to keep up with the spears then she is already behind and can't harass as much. Also, thrives off of short trades with Q+E+Autox2 or so and blocking half of those autos every time adds up while she ends up taking a spear to the face every time.
