I Need Help With My Ranked Anxiety

ToxicShaco·2/20/2018, 5:24:02 PM·1 votes·1,036 views

Topic is pretty clear. I can win a majority of my norm games but I am terrified to go into ranked. I am not scared to play against better people in fact I welcome it. I am scared of the inters, the toxics, the people who first time a champ in a ranked match, the people who leave after dying once, etc. You get the idea.

What can I do to overcome this? I do not want to go into ranked and just be stressed out and pissed off the entire time. I also do not want to get put into bronze because of some bs teammates.

Any advice?

Gotta try to treat it like Norms. Because, tbh, they play the same. You get some easy games, some impossible games, and if you are lucky, a few actual balanced games thrown in. The only difference is you have some rank attached to the queue, and maybe get a border at the end of the season.

My advice is the following: You are going to lose games, and that is ok.

This my own problem. I hate losing in ranked as I hate losing LP and fear demotion. I haven’t even finished my promos this season. But when playing ranked, don’t be afraid of losing. It will happen and you should accept it. What you should fear, is giving up too easily.

After placements I have no problem playing ranked. The placments are what I worry about the most.

I went 5/5 in my placements i got silver 2 right where i feel my skill level should have been at that point. Just try your best play ranked to improve not to get up the ladder that comes later.

Play during specific times to avoid trollers, inters, and toxic kiddos. Limit your games to 3-7 daily.

For me, the only difference between ranked and normals is that in ranked, you have a reference point to measure your skill against.

I play ranked so I can see if I'm improving. If you are winning a lot in normals you may actually have tougher matches there than in ranked.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went ahead and played one of my placement games and we did really good. I had a really nice team. I even got autofilled at support and our jungler agreed to switch! <3
