Shaco Needs A Rework

Being that I am a Shaco main I really hate to say this but he is incredibly out dated. There are just too many junglers who can do everything he can but better.

I am not sure exactly what a good rework would look like but I really think he needs brought up to 2017.

I agree, and for the most part I think the problem lies with his Q. Details here: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/MwJxkqm2-shaco-mains-i-think-we-have-to-start-facing-reality-warning-somewhat-long

TL;DR Its enormous reliability as an escape or engage tool eats up far too much of his power budget and forces the rest of his kit to remain weak. There's also the fact that invisibility no longer has a counter, which makes it frustrating to play against him when ahead.

I think the best way to keep Shaco's identity as a slippery trickster intact while cutting back some of the power on his Q would be to remove the stealth altogether and have it apply 1.5 seconds of Nearsighted to enemies in close proximity when cast. Maybe give Shaco a small speed boost if he blinds at least 1 enemy champion. This way it will still function as an escape, but it would be less powerful used aggressively.

And yes, I know it's a huge nerf, but that's kinda the point. There is no iteration of a reworked Shaco that does not, in some way, nerf his Q. At least this way it stays thematic without sacrificing counterplay. It also opens up room for buffs in the other parts of his kit (trash passive, unreliable boxes, wonky clone AI, shitty E damage, etc.).

I just want his W to actually fear jungle monsters They rarely turn away from the box, which makes it difficult to get the backstab bonus

Plz No, a rework mean they would make him a "healthy assassin" Eg. the new Evelynn

Im a Shaco main and i love this guy, i dont win much with him but i managed to drag my self up to plat multiple times with him.

The best thing about Shaco is his outdated deliberately under tuned incoherent kit. turst me if you wanted to play a "modern" assassin you would have mained Khazix

His is weak, he cant 1v1 nearly anyone, he cant teamfight well, he cant clear well without tiamat, but man i love it! you need to work with what you have, abuse the bugs and mechanics, utilize weird build paths and first clear paths.

Im so excited to try the new runes on him.

If they rework him, I'd like him to still be a cheese champion. I'd still like him to be that champion that comes and kills you at your red then spams laugh emote.

He could use some small changes, like ammo system for boxes. Shaco is suppossed to be a trickster/mindgamer, but with current boxes cd it's impossible to set up anything, unless you have 40% cdr. Also he could use some more counterplay, but i have no idea how it should be done.

Shaco is awesome. It's everyone else that needs a rework.

What would you get rid of in his kit though? Like I have said before, the smallest full rework was Warwick and he was still pretty different with just the same end playstyle.

Shaco would need a reworked passive that works the same but is updated, Q would have to be slightly different in some way, W would be about the same but more interactive/work differently, and his E would be totally different, with his R being about the same but again updated. So one totally reworked ability and three updated ones, plus a modernized passive. What ability do you totally rework?

shaco is uselss period...

Riot cant do nothing to fix him...

When they removed his Q damage they pretty much make him have only one damaging ability (His E) and then rely on his AA

This dosent work on this game right now because the BURST damage its so strong atm that you dont have time to AA...

His "Passive" damage its a weird combination of AP and AD because people play him AP? or what ever...its weird...his whole kit is mess because some people play him AP and some people play him AD the high elo players that main him play him AD..but if Riot make shaco pure AD champion that its a true assasin then the low elo players would cry "Muh AP muh diversity"

So yeah enjoy a mess of a champion now because Riot keep hearing low elo players

(And yeah there was a time that SHaco was AP those times are not here any more)

There's a long line. Shaco has at least remained unique and functional through the years but we still have a ton of other champs that need a rework more than him due to being functional but one dimensional Amumu or unique and unfunctional Fiddlesticks or what have you.

Q - Useless until rank 3+ W - boxes die too fast E - Damage is little more than a tickle R - By the time the 3 boxes spawn the enemy has already run away

Passive - CD is too long to be useful (and it scales from AP wtf), old passive was better

I think a lot of the problems with Shaco could be eliminated if they got rid of the AP scalings and made him full AD scaling.

the thing is though he is a early game power house jungler. Also ap shaco is a decent poke supp with free wards so to speak via boxes.

He doesn't need a rework. What they NEED to do is properly tune him instead of band-aid fixes on his numbers here and there. Preferably something akin to the old pantheon update. His kit is fundamentally exactly the same, but they've changed numbers / utility aspects to make him viable.
