A full out REMADE tutorial [No TL;DR sorry!]

I feel the tutorial is not a tutorial, but instead a step in the wrong direction, making players build thornmail on Ashe, (yes I am serious.). I feel that the tutorial should answer most questions, and give players a much more indepth way to play, and full out obstacles.

So, the beginning of the game, players are introduced to the game, and create their summoner name, and click the, begin Tutorial button. Players are introduced to the game in a room, filled with dummies that are broken, (for detail), with wonderful design, and there is a summoner leading them. The champion you control is uncontrollable, as the summoner speaks. Here are DIRECT quotes that the summoner should have.

"Welcome to the League! A mystical place, where you control a powerful champion, who fight others. However, all champions have 1 goal, to destroy the enemy nexus. In order to do so, you must take down turrets in three separate lanes that are defined by the "meta". Are there any questions?"

You have options to choose, in case you are confused. The first option is, What is the Nexus?

"The Nexus decides who wins or loses the game. Destroying the enemy nexus by attacking it will decide your fate, win or lose! You will gain significant rewards! The Nexus is guarded by towers, that can not be broken, without the help of minions."

The second option is, "How do we destroy these towers?"

"Destroying the towers is simple, minions come in each of three lanes, from the nexus, and will take tower shots from you, so you can take the tower with no damage at all!".

The third option is, "What is the meta?" "The meta is decided by several factors, the great pro players, who play professionally and worldwide, and overall, the meta is decided by, you, the players. The meta will decide several things, like what champions are picked usually for lanes, what are good champions, and what are mediocre in the meta."

The fourth option is, "I want to continue! I have no questions!"

Deciding to continue, you will automatically follow the summoner through a door, and the screen temporarily turns black. You will see a obstacle, that goes in a snake formation, and you must walk through it.

"For practice, walk through this obstacle course, by simply right clicking on your mouse/trackpad. Passing this course will allow you to go to the next course."

Once you pass this course, you are shown at a blocked wall. In order to get out, the summoner says,

"Look at your summoner spells! Below, down! It's where your F key is. Click on F, over the wall! If you want to do this, simply, hover your mouse over the wall in front of you, and click, F! You will flash over the wall!"

Now, flashing over the wall will enable you to the next course, training. You enter the Summoner's Rift, and you are teleported to mid lane. Towers will NOT deal damage to you, and are cancelled (all the colors from the towers are gray.).

"Minions are coming! You must attack the minions!"

(You are a champion with no abilities, nothing distinct, just a human.).

"In order to attack a minion, left click on the minion, and watch your character attack! Awesome right?"

(Killing a minion enables the next stage.).

"Wow, you got a lot of gold, 20,000 gold! That minion was special for sure, you usually get 20-30 gold from a minion. You are a lucky one for sure! Press B to return back to base."

Pressing B returns you back to base, and you are shown 6 items.

"Buy these 6 items by double clicking on them, and you will buy the item." The items are, item 3153 item 3031 item 3072 item 3087 item 3046 item 3035 .

"Nice! You got those items! Let me teleport you to a lane."

You are teleported to top lane, and a villian, Darius suddenly appears.

"Hey, who are you? You want a piece of me, huh punk? Well, you are prepared to die!"

Darius begins slowly walking up to you, and will eventually begin attacking you. However, you can NOT die.

In a fast paced voice, the summoner says, "That's Darius, the hand of Noxus! Attack him with your new items! Right click on him to attack!".

Attacking Darius will damage him for a large amount, and Darius will soon fall on the ground.

"Great Job! We have killed Darius, but there is a new monster that stays in our wake... It's BARON!"

You are teleported in front of Baron Nashor, and Baron Nashor's claw things create a cage around you.

"Oh no, your trapped! Press F to get out!"

Pressing F will let you get out of the cage.

"Okay, you escaped! Take down Baron by right clicking Baron!"

Right clicking Baron will kill it in 5 hits, and Baron will fall, giving you the buff.

"You got baron buff! A magical buff that gives minions amazing power around you! Congratulations!"

Now, you are teleported to red buff.

"This is Red Buff, a buff that gives you a buff that deals true damage to targets. True Damage is damage that can NOT be fought against with armor, or magic resistance. Only health counters it! It also gives a small slow to targets."

You are teleported to blue buff.

"This is blue buff, it gives you mana regeneration, and cooldown reduction, but we will get to that later."

"Click B to teleport back to base."

"Okay, let's go back to the basics now, just for you. Do you see that bar above you? That's your health!" (You take damage in the fountain). "See?" "Look down on the bottom of your screen, do you see that blue bar? That's mana. However, there are champions who do not need mana, and use a unique resource."

"Now, let's look at the shop. Do you see these three items?"

item 3089 item 3748 item 3083 These items are very powerful items, like the items you brought before. The hat, also called Rabadons hat gives mages powerful damage. The spear, named Titanic Hydra gives fighters powerful damage! The suit gives tanks extreme defense! However, these are one of the few amazing items league has.

You are now done with the tutorial, if you wish, you can do bots to train, and get to level 3, and face real players! Do you want to face bots, or will you leave now?

This is the ending of the tutorial, and I hope you liked it. I worked for a bit on this, and I hope this can be added into the game, because right now, the tutorial is quite simple, and does not teach the true fundamentals for a starting player.

Personally I liked the idea, though I have a few things I think would make it less like it is currently. Mostly my first thought after reading the part about the meta is going to either confuse new players or make them think they can NEVER try anything different from what they see on Mobafire and stuff like that.

Another issue I have is how Darius and Baron die so easy, it could make new players (like brand new with VERY little MOBA/game experience in general) think that they'll always do a lot of damage to the targets and possibly get annoyed at the game when they don't do as much as the tutorial does. Now keep in mind I have no idea if the current one does the same thing I haven't done it in nearly 5 years now.

I think the last problem I could see is the items they'd be buying. I know it's an issue with the current one too, but if they are told they have to buy that item set could make them feel like that's all they can build, kinda the same issue as the first point. I feel that would be perfectly fine to do in a tutorial except it should add a phrase that says something like 'sometimes you don't want these items, try different build paths and do what you like, or try the recommended items! The recommended shows items that would help your champion, but it's only an idea!' Though I don't know if that'd confuse new players more or if that would help, I'm just assuming based on how I was when I started yah know building T-Mail on Ashe lol. Oh and at the point where they actually buy the item it should say "Buy these 6 items by double clicking or right clicking once on them, and you will buy the item." some people don't actually know you can do that even after years of playing.

Well that's my take on things, sorry no TL;DR I don't feel like making one, sorry. ;] Great idea though, I'd play through it just to see how well Rito would implement it. Sona
